Kansas City Curator Who Built The Nelson-Atkins' World-Class Photography Collection Resigns In Protest
Last month, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art announced it was cutting its budget by 25 percent and laying off 36 staffers to cope with financial challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic. "It does cut across all (of) the museum," said CEO and director Juliรกn Zugazagoitia at the time, and suggested that "recalibrating and restructuring" was ahead.
I bet he is a bed-wetting, mask Karen, shutdown fiend, art snob! Welcome to reality pal! Cold hard bitch ain't she?

Elizabeth Wilson, wife of former Nelson Director Marc Wilson, has started a facebook letter writing campaign, asking the leadership of the Nelson, Julian Z and Karen Christianson to create equity at the decision making table as it relates to employee layoffs. Seems the process is topdown and lacks transparency. Oh the art bubble. Objects over people.
ReplyDeleteThe Nelson leadership has turned its back on Kansas City Police, its neighborhood and now its employees. Arrogant and out of touch. Its Board of Trustees doesn't seem to support the museum with any real money. Self important and very out of touch.
ReplyDeleteThe Nelson has NO loyalties. Always about Julian's ego. Second rate leadership. Miniture golf anyone? Perhaps yoga on the lawn. Sell some art or real estate and keep your staff employed
ReplyDeleteTurn it into a homeless shelter. ๐๐บ๐ฟ
ReplyDeleteThat build is hideous.
