Despite a great deal of panic, online hate, rioting, looting, and pandemic exposure . . . The Summer Black Lives Matter protest renaissance didn't make a great deal of progress on their demands.
Just as TKC readers predicted, the KCPD Chief remains in power. There hasn't been one discussion of "de-funding" police and those "accountability" measures are mostly just an exercise in paper work.
Even more interestingly . . . The Missouri & Kansas GOP used KCMO protest to COMPLETELY WIPE OUT STATEWIDE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTENDERS.
Whilst there are one or two progressive advances . . . For the most part, it's fair to say that LOCALLY, BLM protest backfired from a political standpoint. None of that is to say that it wasn't part of a greater cultural shift . . . But that hasn't yet been apparent at the ballot box.
