Locals in this suburb seem pretty excited about tough restrictions that will severely restrict movement for the next gen . . . Or at least push trouble makers back into KC proper.
On the surface, this seems like a great move and will likely reduce troublesome crowds and habitual riots at the mall.
Reality: They could call in the National Guard and it still won't save this retail locale. With more than a 50 MILLION DOLLAR debt load, the empty mall is the next on the chopping block and will soon be a memory. Sadly, the crackdown won't inspire people to stop shopping online and avoiding spots like this altogether.
Nevertheless, here's an enthusiastic glimpse at curfew promo from walking dead retailers happy to chase away people as their sales dwindle . . .

"A new curfew for unaccompanied children went into effect Friday in Independence, including the Independence Center shopping mall and surrounding business districts on either side of Interstate 70.
"The curfew, which forbids anyone under 18 years old to be unaccompanied in the area from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., is a joint effort by the city, Independence Police Department and businesses to head of potential trouble in the area."
