TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! CONGRESSMAN CLEAVER LEADS BIPARTISAN 'DREAM TEAM' DELEGATION TO BRING NBA TORONTO RAPTORS TO KANSAS CITY!!!

The push to bring the NBA to Kansas City FINALLY gets serious and earns a bit of political muscle from both this town's Democratic Party leader and local top ranking Republicans that could make it a reality.

Here's FIRST GOOD NEWS and a rare, realistic sign of progress we've seen on the topic . . . CHECK-IT

Cleaver Joins Missouri, Kansas Delegation to Invite Toronto Raptors to Kansas City

“In the event the Toronto Raptors seek a temporary home for the 2020-2021 National Basketball Association (NBA) season, please note our strong support for Kansas City to serve as the team’s host city”

(Kansas City, MO) – Today, United States Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) and Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, along with U.S. Senators Roy Blunt (R-MO) and Jerry Moran (R-KS), as well as U.S. Representative Sam Graves (R-MO), encouraged the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Toronto Raptors to select Kansas City as the team’s host city should they seek a temporary home for the 2020-2021 NBA season.

“If there are three things I know about Kansas City, it’s that we love our jazz music, we love our barbecue, and we absolutely love our sports,” said Congressman Cleaver. “What we may lack in market size, we more than make up for in location, loyalty and fanatical fervor, which is why I sincerely believe Kansas City is the right choice should the Toronto Raptors need a temporary home next season. I am proud to join Mayor Lucas and my congressional colleagues in putting this stake in the ground and letting the world know: Kansas City is open, and the NBA should give us our shot.”

In a letter to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and Toronto Raptors Ownership, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, the lawmakers wrote:

“Kansas City sports fans are unmatched, already providing an avid fanbase for the Chiefs, the Royals, Sporting—and would be eager to extend that support to the Raptors. Our T-Mobile Center, a first-class arena located in the heart of downtown, would make a great home for the Raptors as they look to match last season’s impressive winning record.”

“Kansas City is well-suited to host the Toronto Raptors for the 2020-2021 NBA season and our dynamic fans would be thrilled to adopt the team as our own. On behalf of our bi-state region, we thank you for your consideration of Kansas City as you move forward in the selection process.”

    1. Not opposed to this as far as job creation and good publicity goes but I wonder about the cost for Kansas City.

The NBA bubble is solid but sports fans around here can be responsible. Hope they can find some way to make the crowds keeps safe.

  2. They should come here. KC is a much better b-ball market than Toronto. And they should stay.

  4. Our single moms need company. Bring the NBA to KC.

  5. Just what this city needs, a Chinese Communist NBA whose owners and players grovel and bend the knee like the pusillanimous, Progressive pukes they are every time their Chi-Com overlords demand it.

Next year, instead of having "BLACK LIVES MATTER" painted across the floor for the edification of the idiots still watching this horseshit, they are gonna go full Commie and hang images of Xi Jinping all over the arenas. Chinese Jets, now supplied with the "Vibration Technology" that Joe Biden sold to them that we developed for our own F-35, will fly over before the games and everyone of the BLM shitheels that play for the NBA will stand at attention and salute.

    Fuck the NBA

  7. This town won’t support another overpriced sports team, especially the BLM supporting thugs in the NBA. I vote they move to China.

  8. A mountain out of a mohill. Temporary home is the operative word. Kansas City is busted. I hope they pass.

  9. A mohill? Really?

  10. Do we have enough whores here to support an NBA team? I think we do have enough whores but they might not be skanky enough or their asses might not be fat enough.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Kc is full of fat skanky hoes!

  12. How much will this cost kc? I’m sure they have to pay them to come here with sweetheart deals and lodging. This is all dependent on people in kc buying tickets and everything else food, drink merch and parking, I really don’t see this as a money maker but definitely more of a significant loss. This town is broke as it is, we can’t even get the city to paint lines on the damn busted up streets let alone fix busted water pipes, bridges and roads. Just plain stupid.

  13. Don’t we have a critical covid 19 crisis going on in kc? Isn’t that what mayor mcdrinkerson and the fake dr Rex have been saying for months now? Surely they won’t come here because we are such a massive hotspot.

  14. Millions cross the region unemployed with their benefits running out.
    Evictions increasing.
    Small businesses going belly up.
Huge holes in state, county, and city budgets.
And these elected clowns are goo goo over bringing a basketball team to KCMO TEMPORARILY.
You really can't make this stuff up!
They should all be working for minimum wage somewhere.

  15. Too bad Tim Leiwicke no longer ne’er runs the team

  16. Am I the only one here that's missing the irony in all of this? This mayor now wants to bring in an NBA team where people will be piled on top of one another to watch these fools whose ratings are tanking i.e won't be around likely in 5 years. Yet is closing bars and restaurants (Is that even legal, if so show me where in the constitution) because they're not wearing masks. For the fact that Cleaver is involved tells me there's plenty of kickbacks to be had in this donkeypunch!! Folks, this is all a scam. Like someone above eluded to,fix the infrastructure of this city first you clown. Then worry about the fluff projects. Vote for failure and failure is what you'll get!

  18. The Chinese red death only affects churches, restaurants and bars. It doesn’t affect anyone going to sporting events or riots, amazing how smart it is to know who gets it and who doesn’t isn’t it! Hahahahaha!

  20. Remember when KCMO was supposed to get the Nascar track and Cleaver screwed it up and it went to KCK instead?

  22. 7:28 and 7:55. Your comments are tremendous. Kansas City has nothing to gain from this and a lot more to lose. If Cleaver is supporting this it smells.

  27. Fuck the Communist NBA !

Heck if things continue as is; the Royals many not survive with their anemic attendance.

  28. What do they expect? That people will brave going downtown, with all of its crime, violence, and gunfire to watch a bunch of America-hating, Chi-com loving traitors play a stupid game poorly in a city that is circling the fiscal and civilizational drain more rapidly every day? Why not try to fix KC’s problems instead. Start with the mayor, then try to fix the City Council.

  29. With Cleaver in the lead (if such a thing is possible), this won't happen. Cleaver couldn't even manage a business when he got a sweet SBA deal and an over-priced appraisal, allowing him to borrow a million bucks on a car wash that was worth maybe $100k. Then, in another brilliant move, he didn't pay off the loan, got sued, got a judgment against himself and Dianne C., and then got sued for not paying the first judgment. The cherry on top is that our "leader" in Congress had his Congressional paycheck garnished to pay his debt. Cleaver is a liar, a deadbeat, and inept. (At least in my opinion, and I've been watching and voting against the guy for years.)
    DERKS FOR CONGRESS!
