Survey Seyz: Clean Missouri Stays Winning!!!

One of our faves, Gemma fights back against haters in much the same way that Missouri progressives continue their struggle for ethics reform and/or redistricting despite skepticism and Republican push back.

Accordingly, here's a hint at progress in recent polling data from a top GOP firm . . . The highlights from veteran local newsman Mike Mahoney

"Missouri Scout poll Amendment 3: Yes: 28% No: 50% Undecided: 22%. KC Region: Yes: 26%. No 54% Undecided: 21%. Remington Research 10/14-15. 1,010 likely voters."

Translation . . .

AMENDMENT 3 LOOKS LIKE IT'S ON THE WAY TO A WASHOUT AS CLEAN MISSOURI SUPPORTERS FIGHT BACK!!!

The long term trend is even more interesting . . . Ballot initiatives are one of the few instances where progressives and the Democratic Party seems to have leveled the playing field among the Missouri GOP Super-Majority. This 2020 counter-measure targeting reform efforts doesn't seem likely to reverse that trend.

  1. The only thing you need to know about Amendment 3 is that the Democrats hate it and the bill started with a Republican who has seen his fair share of Democrat-gerrymandered districts around the St. Louis area. "Clean Missouri" is a joke that was supposed to use a "non-partisan" committee to draw state district lines fairly. Instead, the non-partisan recommendations have all favored Democrats. Sorry Dems, St. Louis and Kansas City don't speak for all Missourians.

  3. Funkhouser got more votes than Jim Rowland in that mayor's election! I had to laugh all month about that one! Jim needs to "shine a spotlight on his abilities".

  4. The amendment is obviously a Trojan horse with the first two proposals - banning lobbyist gifts and limiting campaign contributions (things most ppl are for) then the real goal to change the redistricting committee to a bi-partisan committee.

Question is why couldn't each be made a separate amendment?

  5. No, the question is when will the people of Missouri ever gain more equal representation in elected offices?

The way that Republicans have gerrymandered things now, after the millions spent by the GOP in their "Project Redmap", 43% of Missouri's voters control more than 65% of all State Elective offices. Redistricting is necessary but Republicans are aware that they are actually a minority in the State, and are desperately seeking to continue disenfranchising the majority.
