Kansas City-area hospitals overwhelmed, turn away ambulances

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The surge in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations is so severe in the Kansas City area that some hospitals were forced to refuse ambulances due to a lack of space, according to officials with one of the region's largest health care providers.

Comments

  1. This story is very suspect. The hospitals aren't listed and there is only one source of information which is some guy supposedly from from St. Luke's. ERs turn away ambulances all the time and the ambulance re-routes.

  2. ^^You stupid fucktard, the hospitals have been diverting since Wednesday, because stupid fucktards like you think the virus is waning or worse, a hoax. Get off your lazy ass and go down there. The IVU’s are full of COVID patients. Why don’t you get the virus and die monkey?

  4. I work in a local hospital ER and we are turning away patients at ER because we are receiving too many shooting victims. Its like the Wild West out there. These shooting victims are clogging up ICU as well. Bad thing is gang members come to the ER to finish off who they shot.

  7. ^^OK...I’ll be your Huckleberry. St Luke’s was at capacity this week. Truman was open to Trauma only, St.Luke’s East was at capacity, and Research was closed. We had to divert to North KC and Liberty several times this week. I ought to know, I’m a firefighter. It’s no joke idiot, and most patients have been morons who didn’t wear masks or talk just like you. We’ll being seeing you sooner or later. Count on it dummy.

  8. Just three months ago; our hospital was laying off nurses and staff as no one was having elective surgery. Our hospital was empty due to corona virus. Very weird given you would think there would be a lot of patients due to a pandemic.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Even our hospital cafeteria has had to lay off workers as there is simply no visitors or patients to serve. The poor old lady in the hospital gift shop was laid off and she is trying to take care of her grand kids.

  10. Research is a classy hospital. I remember the KC Star reported, that a dead body was found on the roof of Research Hospital. They didn't know if he was a patient, a homeless person or fell off the life flight helicopter. Pretty sad story for a hospital to have dead bodies on their roof. Glad I don't transport patients at that hospital.

Whoa there 7:44, I am a heterosexual. But I bet you can find your "Huckleberry" at the Liberty Memorial and get some action since it is dark now. Just be sure to wear a mask; okie dokie.

  12. At our hospital we have been having gurney races down the hallways since business has been so slow.

    ReplyDelete
  13. ^^Which hospital is that? I’d like to know. You TKC readers really don’t have any idea what’s going on do you? Right now in KC COVID runs and hospitalizations are worse than they were in March and April. Of course you don’t have to take my word for it. Why don’t you call any KC area hospital and ask them if they are at capacity in their ICU’s or if they had to close any times this week for COVID patients. Let us know what you find out. Meanwhile keep listening to FOX res, Quanon, Breitbart, or your President. They wouldn’t lie to you would they?

  15. A doctor friend of mine said business at his hospital dropped off dramatically eight years ago as folks lost their health insurance due to Obama Care.

The doc said a lot of other former patients health insurance premiums skyrocketed after Obama Care and had to drop their health insurance as they couldn't afford it.

A lot of old people had to resort breaking their blood pressure pills in two to make the prescription last longer which is not healthy for their heart.

Obama Care was a disaster as working people who had health insurance saw their premiums skyrocket to pay for the Welfare Queens health insurance they received for free under Obama Care.

  16. My doctor's nurse's sister's husband's babysitter told my mother-in-law's mailman cousin's bus driver's dog's nephew that people were dying in droves.

  17. 7:44 ok mr hero huckleberry, I’ll play along, but with the facts, THE ENTIRE STATE OF MISSOURI has less than 800 people in the hospital, are you trying to say that little old kc can’t or doesn’t have 800 total beds if all the hospitalizations were in kc? Plus kc hospitals are only at 27% usage of ventilators. After all, you can’t argue with the facts amirite!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Um, people are dying. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw a fat black lady pass out at Popeye's last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh, I forgot to add that hospitalizations have been dropping since August so.....

And why do they insist on including all the data from six counties plus kck and kcmo? Do they not realize how fucking large that amount of area covers? C’mon man, that’s several million people for Christ’s sake.

God damned fucking dimwits with their doom and gloom scare tactics.

  25. It is not like it is unusual for ambulances to be bounced to another hospital if the ER at the hospital of choice is backed up. It happened to my dad who was bounced from St. Luke's East to St. Joe's before Covid ever showed up and my mom was stuck in the ER there for three days before a patient room opened up in the main hospital. St. Luke's is building additional ER space there because the facilities that they have are undersized for their usual load, not because of the Kung Flu. But any misinformation to scare people, right? Disgusting.

  31. I work at one of the major hospital chains here in town.

Dr. Fauci was at our hospital yesterday and euthanizing grandpa's and grandma's with a syringe full of anti-freeze cocktail to make room for corona virus patients.

Dr. Mengele, I mean Dr. Fauci, suggested Kansas City extend the toy train tracks to our Emergency Room to bring in more Grandpa's and Grandma's on a larger scale for efficiency purposes.

Dr. Fauci has a good friend named Eichman who is a whiz at transportation from what we hear.

For some reason Dr. Fauci was on the roof with Zyklon B checking out the ventilator chimneys. He was considerate and said he would ensure we receive funds to build a large shower room. Why we need a large shower room for 2,000 people is beyond me.

Ever heard of the Commandment "Thou Shall Not Kill"?

You are preaching to the wrong crowd about sinful. Look inward.

    There are also:

    "Thou shall not steal"

"Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's goods"

I know in your bible it says:

"Thou shall blame Whitey for all of my self-inflicted ills".

  37. The coronavirus has been in the U.S., and circulating, for the last year.

EXTREMELY FEW people have died from the coronavirus. More have died in Kansas from pneumonia than from coronavirus this year.

Anyone who knows virology and infectious disease transmission patterns, would know that you will NOT see the highest spike in cases in the metro KC area 1 year after being present on the West coast, and 6+ months after states like NY/NJ had their peak.

Unless you have evidence that the virus has mutated, the reason why the reported "case numbers" are up is because they continue to test more people who are asymptomatic, and the lab testing thresholds are set artificially high to pick up non-infectious trace elements of the degraded virus particles.

Most people exposed to the virus have no or minimal symptoms. When testing asymptomatic people, if you tell them they've tested positive, a percentage of these will begin manifesting symptoms due to anxiety alone. Imagine if you told a healthy individual that they have cancer (when in fact they don't). Some would begin preparing to die, some would have a heart attack/stroke from anxiety, and some might fall into depression and even contemplate suicide.

The coronavirus is real, like seasonal influenza is real, but the "pandemic" and "shutdown" are political theater to manipulate the public, bailout corporations, allow Big Tech to gain market share, grow government, oppress the public, raise the tax burden, and brainwash a frightened populace into accepting their further enslavement.

  44. KCTV 5 has mis reported this. I know two “Covid Nurses in KC and they are not busy. The cases they have have co-morbities.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Work in a local ER: Patient volume has been picking up because people have become so fucking helpless and would rather make an insurance claim than to take charge of their own health. They have symptoms of the seasonal cold/flu and want to be admitted. Keep in mind that business, err, the census was extremely low during the beginning of this pandemic. Staff was basically laid off and now these for-profit healthcare systems are making up for the lost profit by making grandma with a runny nose stay overnight, despite receiving billions of bailout dollars (corporate welfare is more of an issue than poor welfare). Meanwhile, staff have not received a raise while being overworked.

In every aspect, this "pandemic" is one of the biggest scams ever perpetrated on the planet.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I am a nurse at St. Luke's. No way are we at capacity. In fact, we continue to have furloughed nurse staff. We have turned away patients, but that's because of the staff shortage brought on by furloughs, not anything directly related to an uptick in COVID-19 patients.
