NEWSFLASH!!! KANSAS CITY MAINSTREAM MEDIA STANDS UP FOR VOLLEYBALL TEAM T-SHIRT SOCIAL JUSTICE VICTORY!!!

Whilst our KICK-ASS TKC BLOG COMMUNITY was talking politics, public health and the fate of our Democracy . . . Kansas City mainstream news spent a great deal of time debating fashion choices of local students and the reaction of public school administrations.

There might be a human interest angle here somewhere but for the most part this item proves that even among our progressive pals — "White Privilege" and cultural appropriation are, in fact, very real and also very silly.

Still, we link the aftermath of this faux crisis if only to offer a slice of life for parents and teachers who fear the prospect of civil unrest amid an increasingly divisive discourse and the threat of repeated rioting over the fate of a former game show host.

A late night reality check: In retrospect, nearly every political slap fight is simply pointless drama that could have been avoided with better communication betwixt feuding parties.

Check-it . . .

Fox4: Metro principal apologizes for making volleyball team take off racial unity t-shirts

Deets . . .

The shirts said “together we rise” and were meant to be a positive message. However, many of the players say the principal’s actions show them they need to support unity now more than ever.

The girls volleyball team said interim principal Dr. Kerrie Herren made them take the shirts off . . . Herren said what he did and said was a mistake, and the girls can wear the shirts from now on. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I hurt you,” Herren said. “I’m sorry that I may have embarrassed you. I’m sorry that my quick action ultimately had bigger consequences than what they had at the moment, and I would like any opportunity to continue the conversation and make it right.”

You decide . . . Hopefully, we'll have more for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!

  2. It should not be worn purely on the quality of the design. It looks like it was done by a third-grader.

Fuck the kids and their woke parents. When they start earning a living and paying taxes so as to have some skin in the game, then they have the right to support BLM and all the lib bullshit, and can open their stupid pie holes.

  7. 12:17, free speech isn't limited to tax-payers or adults. They have the same right to say stupid shit that you do, & your shit was stupid. They'll live & you'll die, so you could argue that they have the right to protest the world that you've created. I'm sure they'll do better. Those t-shirts are evidence of this.

    Together we rise.

  8. The shirts are embarrassing. Parents didn’t choose to live in an upscale school district just so their kids could wear shit like that. Jesus fucking Christ.

  9. @12:17 you have the right to your own opinion, but I'd move out of Mommy's basement before I'd criticize somebody or not having a job if I were you.

  10. Dr Kerrie is a man? Name fooled me. I thought he wanted the girls to take off their shirts so he could see boobs?

  13. Why is the black fist bigger than the others and have rays toward heaven coming out of it? Is it supposed to mean it's superior to the others? Why wasn't the shirt created to show equality, not superiority? Poor thought went into it.

  14. ^^^ yikes!

They didn’t get approval for the shirts in the first place, these kids broke the rules and the woke crowd doesn’t care as long as they get their way. Rules are only for white people, the koloreds do what they want and you’re suppose to bend over and take it so....

  15. Let's see. How to address the thorny, politically difficult problem of race relations? Or to be useful in a social context. Volunteer at a nonprofit? Work at a soup kitchen for a day? Maybe donate foodstuffs?

Nah. A tshirt should do it.

  16. Useful idiot kids were commie t-shirts and adults are not allowed to save them from their ignorance and stupidity.

  17. Complete goddam idiocy. Had enough yet Kansas Shitty?

  18. I really got a rise out of this story!

  19. Hilarious as most of these kids have no idea why they’re wearing the shirt. At that age their brains aren’t developed yet. Parents of these kids are
    a bunch of flakes.
