ReplyDeleteMake no mistake Charlie. REAL ID has never had anything to do with better identification or protection from modification of the license. REAL ID makes available to the Fed all locally recorded State databases without any formal request or requirement. CCL, Feds know. Delinquent State taxes, Feds know. It brings out of the woodwork the fools and their snarky: well if you're not doing anything wrong why do you care? A: abuse of power with a smattering of power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

ReplyDeleteIt isn't really time consuming getting the compliant i.d.. You will need your birth certificate, you know the one with the stamped/imprinted into the surface of the paper. Social security card is needed too if I remember correctly and I think the current licence you're holding now. That might be good enough.
