SHOCK!!! KANSAS CITY TOP COP HYPES CRIME DROP DESPITE BLOODY RECORD BREAKING 2020 HOMICIDE COUNT!!!

Kansas City media politely ignored a statement from embattled KCPD Chief Smith today but the words are important not only because they're backed up by data but also because the perspective from the police department is vital to understanding how law enforcement views the local crime crisis.

The missive features the Chief attempting to calm residents and encourage cooperation. Sadly, this tactic might not meet with success given an intensifying level of cowtown division as the local economy collapses, the pandemic worsens and it seems that civil unrest is ramping up again ahead of election returns.

Here's the word as protesters continue their demands for the top cop's removal . . .

KCPD Chief's Blog: Operation LeGend isn’t over, and KC homicide rate continues to decrease

Money line supported by a few graphs . . .

"Operation LeGend is not over. While we have long had a great working relationship with our federal law enforcement partners, those relationships are being enhanced. For many years, we have had several specialized squads composed of both KCPD and federal agents, and that’s growing. The FBI’s Kansas City Field Office will embed additional personnel in our Violent Crimes Division . . .

Operation LeGend is about enforcement, but we have all heard that police can’t “arrest our way out” of a violent crime issue. That’s why we’re working with faith leaders in the Getting to the Heart of the Matter initiative to address some of the root causes of crime. It’s why we partnered with churches from the Northland to the Southland this past weekend on Faith and Blue events that provided more than 45,000 meals to residents. It’s why we employ social workers and a specialized Crisis Intervention Team Squad and so much more."

If the statement reads like hype, that's because it is . . . And it comes as local tensions amid the upcoming November vote are starting to rise again.

In fairness, we invite readers to check out the Chief's post in its entirety.

You decide . . .

  1. He doesn't seems worried about it but a lot of other people are.

It would be nice if we had a sense of urgency from our leaders. Frankly, neither city hall or the PD seemed too interested in curbing the level of violence. They're all trying the same old song & dance. Doesn't seem to matter that it's not working.

  2. The BLM cry babies do not care as their antics handicap the police. F--k the inner city as long as they support progressive baby sitter politicians what do they expect ?

  3. More deadly shootings but the overall crime rate is declining. There is no contradiction in that sentence. Both claims may be and likely are true.

It also goes to show what a failure Prosecutor Baker has been. It should not require federal intervention to reduce the crime rate.

  4. Criminal hood rats murdering other criminal hood rats is a great thing. With worthless Jean Petersucker Baker as prosecutor, it’s the only way hood rats are taken off the streets.

  5. More people stuck at home, not as many opportunities for burglaries; fewer people out & about. Far fewer opportunities to commit crimes. Less cover (fewer people, smaller crowds, less vehicles) for criminals to blend in. It's hard out there for pimps & crooks.

  6. The Chief should be removed. Dereliction of duty in all categories.

We need new management, obviously he's not getting the job done.

  7. The homicide problem is out of control, time to replace the Chief.

  8. But I thought President Trump was the law and order President. I though he was going to solve the crime problem. Seems like has been worse under his administration.

  9. ^^^

What about Quinton Lucas, he said he would get the homicide under 100?

  10. Everybody knows what the problem is. You just can't say it.

    ReplyDelete
  11. ^^^ You can say it, people say it all the time. Black people say it constantly. The stats prove it out. You just can't be a total dick about it and then imagine some racial b.s. that's never going to happen. I notice that the second part of that equation is tough for people to handle because there are a ton of dumb-ass whites too.

  12. Isn't the showboat failure Mayor McDrinkerson going to stand up and take responsibility?

    ReplyDelete
  13. ...and even the dumbass whites are not murdering at the astronomical rate the blacks are. Weird.

    So much for equality.

  14. This idiot is just as crazy as Quinton Lucas is.

  15. Would be crazy and outrageous for rednecks to be doing wholesale murder, but it seems black leadership deems this normal behavior for a community so overly concerned about a CONTEXTUALY FEW bad outcomes that were self-inflicted when interacting with law enforcement. They just will not accept the responsibility for this daily slaughter. It makes police encounters look like getting wedgies.

Anyone else notice this glaring hypocrisy?

  16. Yup, the world noticed it decades ago. I guess the dimwits were hoping they would kill each other off eventually because.... they still mad that Lincoln set them free.

  17. Working with faith leaders? Cause they know what the heart of the matter is. What a crock of shit. These murders are happening in and around churches daily. They don’t know what happened anymore than the police do... and if they’re Black faith leaders, they probably did it. Thugs in the pulpit.
