Kansas City Star Focuses On Racial News

The so-called "paper-of-record" doubles down on their effort to sell racially charged news to subscribers . . . Most of whom have already abandoned the local news platform.

Here's their latest gambit that seems earnest but possibly out of touch with readers who can find similar freebie content/complaints via an endless stream of social media . . . Take a look:

The Kansas City Star hires new editor to oversee coverage of race and equity issues

"We're clearly in a time in this country where we need to confront, address and analyze the ways in which we talk about and interact with issues of race, gender, sexuality, and all of the things that make us a fascinating society," said Trey Williams, The Star's new editor for race and equity issues.

  1. I was curious why anyone would take a job with the Star. As it turns out, nepotism got him the job. I will look forward to reading his trash. Then I read his bio and found out he is from Independence. The mayor of Independence has some big luscious tits.

  2. I am sure the new editor will be a reasonable and logical voice for the entire city.

First things first. Until we rename the city, "Louis Farrakhanville" and every street is named after a felon who has served time in prison, then there can be no justice and no peace.

It's a good start and we have come a long way, but have a long way to go.

  3. KC Star needs to learn how to pay their bills. How about writing an editorial apologizing for your bankruptcy. Oh, I get it...you want to criticize others while you are failing tin your business practices. No credibility. Major hypocrite. Bums.

  4. Much as in Soviet Russia, most major organizations must now have a political officer to make sure that the party line is absolutely obeyed.

  5. Only old & irrelevant people read, and then comment about the Star.

  6. It's past time that the owners and publisher of "The Call" to complain or even sue the Star.
KCMO can support only one black newspaper and the Star is intruding on their turf.
And the reporters at The Call actually have an understanding of the black community, unlike the clueless cub reporters at the Star.
Are there a lot of Star subscribers in the black community?
    Unlikely.
    Sad.

  7. So they hired another budding racist writer who comes in with an predisposed agenda. Like they don't have enough already?

  8. How will he be paid? Fallen Star is bankrupt. Can’t imagine who would wrap fish in it, much less read it.

  10. ^^Huh?? Are you retarded or old?

  11. I do so long for the good old days of professional journalism, when the Star had top notch, unbiased, rational thinking columnists - like Abouhalkah, Duiguid and Sanchez.

  12. Shit-Star laying off actual reporters...but hiring "Diversity" scammers..LOL!

  13. 9:37 you fucking retard, get with the facts and program. Hoops was a former racist's Star reporter. If you can't keep up with the adults stick to watching Sesame Street on PBS Kids
