Kansas City LGBT Community Celebrate The Pope's Switcheroo Backing Civil Unions

A groundbreaking declaration earned accolades today from many locals . . . Meanwhile, we notice that celebration of the decision doesn't include commentary from many Catholic leaders.

Whilst other religions have embarrassed denizens of the LGBT community, Catholics have been exceptionally SLOOOOW to accept the cultural shift.

And so, here's the word from locals who consider the progressive move  . . .

Kansas City's LGBTQ community calls pope's support of civil unions a 'step in right direction'

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In a documentary, "Francesco," that debuted in Rome on Wednesday, Pope Francis said he supports civil unions for people in the LGBTQ+ community. "Homosexuals have a right to be a part of the family," the pope said on camera. "They're children of God and have a right to a family.

  1. Who cares what the motherfucking Pope says? The Supreme Court will soon rule same sex marrriages illegal, when Barrett is sworn in, and rightfully so. Hopefully, all the anti sodomy laws will be updated as well. Sorry, homosexuals, not sorry.

  2. Maybe the pope should join the church of the Resurrection since he likes queers so much. They let queers go there if they donate money. That’s all that church is about anyway. Nobody else wants queers in their church.

  3. What was their take on him looking the other way about child molestations ? Same as theirs ?

  4. The Catholic Church has old people to ignore the Bible's verses describing Soddom and Gamorrah. The Pope is decreeing it a mistake that should be removed from future Bibles. Thats disturbing.

This is a brilliant move by the Holy Father!

  6. Not that I want to bash gay people. I don't agree with their lifestyle but that's their business. I do think this guy is a bad character I think it was strange that when he was chosen to be pope lightening struck the Vatican three times and when they released the dove a raven killed it as soon as it was released. Not a coincidence.

  7. Cardinal Bergoglio has condemned himself publicly as a formal and material heretic. His opinion is in direct contradiction with Catholic teaching and he has no authority to change it. He is an embarrassment to the Church and to the human race and is probably sufficient reason to bring back burning at the stake, at least in this one instance.

  9. He also did away with limbo. It's the purgatory for kids who die before baptism. A church belief for 1400 years. So where did the kids go? Heaven or hell? He didn't say. But unbaptized can't be in the presence of God. So I guess they went to hell. All his church's teaching are b.s.

  11. But he IS the Pope!
And every action he takes is infallible, a given for over 150 years!

And "heresy" is what any of you who oppose God's chosen Representative are committing.

Stay true to your faith, Catholics, you are not allowed to "pick and choose" the parts of Doctrine that you approve of, that question has been answered over a millennium ago!
Obey, and beg God's forgiveness for your heretical sins!

  12. If the Catholic Church is "infallible", then same sex marriage can't be a sin one day and not a sin the next day.

This proves the Church is flawed and based on the whims of a mortal man.

Previous Popes are rolling over in their graves on today's same sex marriage approval by the Poop.

  13. "POPE" IS A POLITICAL TITLE

This man is no closer to God than a devout peasant who labors in the fields.

Place no person on a level above you, or below you. Treat everyone you meet as an equal human being.

This Pope is a classic reactionary. His political positions "evolve" in response to the waxing/waning of trends. A person upholding the precedent of centuries worth of religious interpretation need not reference the current poll numbers to reach a conclusion.

  15. The Catholic Church is fallible.

They proclaimed the Catholic Church is "infallible"-but if thats the case, the Spanish Inquisition and burning alive of many protestants citizens and ministers was the correct. We all know its NOT correct, so the church is fallible.

If your a Catholic that believes the church is infallible - it proves YOUR FALLIBLE AND GULLABLE. Please open your eyes.

Isn't THAT what the Catholic Church has been advocating and striving for?

  18. @10:07 you are parroting the same nutty statements the John Birchers were ranting about in the 1960 Kennedy/Nixon contest - it's time you far-right loons found new material, that crap is SIXTY YEARS OLD!

What's next, are you going to "have in your hand a list of 142 Communists now working for the State Department"?

  19. Papal infallibility is much more narrow than “every action he takes”. It only applies to teaching of faith and morals in ex cathedra statements. Is Bergoglio the pope or was Benedict’s resignation not valid? All evidence points to the latter. A false teacher has seized Peter’s chair and seeks to confuse the faithful.

  20. ^^^^

The entire Catholic Church is a false religion. Satan spends 99% of his time developing false religions. To lead people astray. Satan doesn't whisper in people's ears to steal, kill, lie - thats already in human nature and he doesnt need to instigate it.

No Satan copies the true religion and changes it just enough so its followers join him in hell someday. Like a glass of 99% water, but the other 1% is cyanide. Looks great but it is not. Thats the Catholic Church. Can't get that next promotion at work? How do you expect to then work your way to heaven - something a billion times harder?
