Kansas City Aim4Peace Under Fire

This anti-crime program has been a source of frustration for many denizens of the urban core and now a fight over funding during the KCMO pandemic budget crisis is underway.

Take a look at the latest round in the local crime money debate as murder stats continue to climb . . .

After setting homicide record, Kansas City to consider ending Aim4Peace program

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Days after setting an all-time high for homicides in Kansas City with 70 days remaining in 2020, the city could be ending its Aim4Peace program. There are now calls to end the long-standing Kansas City Health Department crime prevention program.

  1. Aim4Peace has been a make-work jobs program joke from the day it arrived from, of all places, Chicago.
Millions of dollars have been wasted by the Health Foundation and KCMO and the organization's idea of being "interrupters" of violence has had no effect whatsoever on the city's crime, violence, or homicide numbers.
They all just kept climbing, year after year.
ad Hoc has been around since 1977 and also has had zero impact on reducing crime and violence.
But the city "leaders" don't have the guts to establish any performance standards, expectations, or accountability for these programs, so they never go away, even as new ones are added.
If KCMO and Jackson County are the least bit serious about the horrendous murder rate, they'll review how every dime is spent on these programs as well as the $20 million/year COMBAT tax and get serious about demanding results and accountability.
Defunding Aim4Peace is just a start.

  4. KCMO needs to use the Aim4Peace funds and hold a parade on par withe the Royal's and Chief's parades. Champions have parades and a new homicide record is calling for a parade and celebration.

  12. Consider? Uhhhhm. What’s to consider, exactly? Also, stop giving money to Miles and his church. Another proof-less, funded endeavor.

  13. The problem is, Aim4Peace has never been close to adequately funded. The get results wherever they are working at but they are logistically overmatched. They simply don’t have the resources have the presence needed to prevent more violence.

One thing is for sure. They are accomplishing more than all the faggots on this blog.
