Former Kansas City Metro Politico Chris Moreno Reveals Brain Cancer

Chris Moreno has worked on both sides of the aisle in KC politics and formerly held office as a council member in Lee's Summit not so long ago.

In terms of opposition research and consulting, during his adventures in local politics he proved a formidable adversary to many Kansas City power players.

Now he faces his toughest challenge and we send our very best wishes and prayers for his quick recovery . . .

Here's a public message he shared earlier today that has captured the attention of our blog community . .  .

This is a tough message to post but it’s time I let folks know that I have been diagnosed with brain cancer.

For sometime, I have been having dizzy spells and feeling light headed.

The tumor is 7.5 cm and likely a glioma, meaning it started in my brain. When I was told, it definitely didn’t register with me at first. Having to make that call to Cortney was the toughest call I’ve ever had to make. Having to tell my babies, my parents, brothers and in-laws was heartbreaking. I’m just 39 . . .

To those I have privately told, I want to thank you for the love and support you have shown. It means so much to our family.

I will have several weeks of recovery post surgery, and then they will determine my treatment plan.

I ask for everyone’s prayers and support through this journey. Most importantly, I ask that you keep MY WIFE and the kids in your prayers. My faith is strong, and while I know in my heart I will survive, the risks of brain cancer and surgery are very real. So I have put it all in the hands of God. He never fails.

Sincerely,

Christopher Moreno
