TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FANS DEFEND BOOING!!!

Across the nation there has been nearly universal condemnation against Kansas City Chiefs fans booing an NFL "moment of unity" before the NFL season opener.

Aside from the Republican Missouri junior senator defending the jeers along partisan lines, there hasn't been any real consideration of the fan perspective in the aftermath of boo bird controversy.

Accordingly, amid a great many conversations, messages and notes sent our way . . For this Sunday as the NFL features two separate but not equal national anthems, we want to highlight some of the more relevant motivations for booing fans.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FAN REVEAL INSPIRATION FOR BOOING KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AMID SOCIAL JUSTICE PROTEST!!!

Again, we've attempting to highlight thought provoking explanations that might challenge the MSM narrative that offers only offered damnation with very little room for understanding or redemption.

Here's an apropos start for our discussion . . .

"If the Kansas City Chiefs want to have a 'conversation' about race relations & police brutality in America then booing is an appropriate response. It seems like they aren't interested in hearing from the fans. They only want to preach, not listen."

A note on credibility . . .

"I understand they're 'using their platform' but these are multimillionaires. How about supporting community organizations or putting their money where there mouth is . . . The fans were justified in booing because they can obviously see the hypocrisy."

From a 10-year season ticket holder . . .

"The team has always treated the fans horribly and now highlighting a protest just spoiled the game for me. Booing and doing the chop was a way to give the game back to the fans. They are who support the team year after year . . ."

In defense of the First Amendment . . .

"BOOING IS FREE SPEECH!!!"

About the aftermath . . .

"TKC, can you please try to at least show both sides of this debate. I can't believe that there's not one columnist in Kansas City who can't understand why we booed the team on Thursday night. The Star says we should be 'ashamed' but I'm proud of the fans for standing up for themselves and not getting pushed around be a big corporation."

From our friend Gobi . . .

"I love the Chiefs. I'm a lifelong fan. But I understand the booing. People don't want the politics at the game. I understand the players want to speak on the issue and that's fine in another venue but expecting us to pay to watch their protest is too much. I couldn't ever boo my team but I won't criticize those who felt they needed to respond to the protest. If you don't like the performance of the team, booing is a common practice. I boo the opponents all of the time because I disapprove. It's non-violent and part of the language of football. Some people from my football crew did boo the Chiefs and they told me it was because they saw the team on the wrong path. If they focus on politics and not the games and this season they will never be the football dynasty that we want for Kansas City."

Accordingly, we turn the discussion over to our blog community as MSM would rather politely ignore fan discontent rather than offer equal time and communion with every aspect of our local discourse.

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. Of course the local media isn't going to want to talk about booing the Chiefs, that's half of their advertising money right now.

They're the company store and nobody is allowed to challenge them.

    1. Thanks for offering some selection. I don't agree but booing the team but these reasons are better then what I've seen online.

No the Chiefs don't hate America. They are protesting. You can agree or disagree but don't lie about their motivations.

  2. Booing is pointless. If you really want to get their attention, then boycott.

Why pay for the Chiefs to slap you in the face.

Turn off the games and stay away from the stadium. That will change their tune real quick.

      BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

What a dumb idea, not a real fan. Go find a Trump rally and stay away from Kansas City's team.

    2. As spoken by a complete dumb shit who probably never went to a game. This league will be dead soon and people like you will need to go back to smoking pecker.

    3. LMAO - great reply to shut up 12:51

      You nailed him perfectly

    4. Yes. Go to Trump rally. Leave the chiefs alone. Booing makes no difference nor change what both teams stand for.
Racists are low life and they are everywhere.

    5. Trump is a cunt. Those small percentage of fans who boo are cunts. True KCFans stand behind change and our KC Chiefs. Fuck you Mike Parson you dumb hack.

    6. I've got an idea, instead of booing is a protest, let's go burn our city down. isn't that the way the rest of the dumb f**** in this country do it?

      Delete
  3. Right now I’m watching the dolphins and patriots game
There is literally nobody in the stadium, yet there is crowd noise being played over the air. They are trying prop up this league because they know they really jumped the shark with their fans (customers)

    1. No one is allowed in the stadiums because of Covid-19. KC and like, two other stadiums are trying a limited number of fans. Stadiums being empty has nothing to do with the protest.

      Delete
  4. The players, the media and other left wing critics probably think the pre-game paean to BLM involved some vague, touchy feely concepts like social justice and racial unity. Nothing could be further from the truth. The ideas they were unifying around include government mandated hiring and admissions quotas, reparations, confessions of racism by all European Americans, restructuring of the economy to give blacks collective ownership, and much more besides.

Fans who do not agree with those demands have every right to boo players who, wittingly or not, are unifying in favor of them.

    1. You sound like a paranoid Trump loving "always a victim of reverse racism" type of crazy person. Here is the deal...America is a profoundly racist and white dominated society. Everyone is NOT down with it stating that way forever. Things are changing. It's hard for some but that dii mean that those who truly love football and the Chiefs will stop watching or supporting because of protests or because the military is promoted etc depending on your politics.

Change and progress WILL occur with or without the Trumptards

  5. I've never been a racist. I don't need children playing a child's game to show me that it's "bad".

  7. Almost all of the posts seem to think that their money will talk. Your money has been fake for almost 100 yrs, and definitely worthless in the last 30 since America has eroded any of the trust the dollar had even after the gold standard vanished. "In God we Trust" was like a prayer that blessed the currency and gave thought to honesty, but even that simple ackknowledgement to the creater will be removed from digital currency. Most of the post-ers here are conservative--their optimism/cynicism is usually dead on correct, as opposed to the leftist faith in history never repeating itself. But these good and decent folks will not look around and realize that the old money system is GONE ! One man was right in saying he felt that all corporations, entertainment and news venues, have alienated 65% of their support base. You gotta ask yourself-- could they be this stupid ? No way. They know exactly what they are doing. The money you begrudge them and advertisers in some mysterious way is promised to them down the road in the form of powerful position in Satan's coming kingdom--or,is being payed behind the scenes with "new money", or gold and riches taken from those who will fall due to their diabolical plot. Ever listen to a celebrity or teacher who spouts the rhetoric that you KNOW they didn't and still don't believe in--and wonder what meeting or command was given to them that made them spout the falsehoods that plague us ? That needs to be researched by the real journalists. I suspect that if enough of these cowards will nut-up and reveal who told them to drink the kool-aid, we might even open enough doors to reveal the anti-Christ, and perhaps forestall him for another 120 years.

    ReplyDelete
  8. The Chiefs did not hear my protest (I tuned out)..doubt I will be missed, but when enough fans are subjected to the continued one-sided, guilt inspired moral lecturing and finger waving the stadium may be at 20% capacity for reasons unrelated to a pandemic.

  13. The protesters (rioters) whoes acts the NFL supports of Burn Loot Murder is not criticized and booing is??? WTF?

The media again by omission controls the narrative. If you just listened to their narrow coverage you would think the fans were pitching puppies from the stands. Who could protest a moment of unity (sniff, sniff, outrage, outcry, backlash)? The Chiefs fans! Go Chiefs fans!

Only demostration of balls in the whole country.

  14. Here is what really happened.
The social justice program was giving it in the ass so hard it was starting to hurt, that's when the fans said enough is enough and booed to stop the suffering. Just so happens Team Mahomes said we're not finished yet and the fans said yes you are!
NFL and cohorts pissed that they didn't get their nut like they planned.

  15. If protesters have a right to march and yell then football fans have a right to boo.

  16. Support the Blue.

    Fuck the Chiefs and NFL.

The fans support the Blue and were booing the Chiefs for supporting rapists, wife beaters, drug dealers and murderers.

The police saved Klark Kunts employees Saturday from a gunman after the POS orchestrated an anti-police ceremony at Thursday nights game..

Fuck Okafor for kneeling during the national anthem.

When this information is released TKC needs to inform his loyal supporters where the handout is.

  31. Vince Lombardi9/13/20, 5:00 PM

I didn't watch the game because I knew they would make a statement at the beginning. I support those that chose to Boo the act. There should not be a protest or alternate anthem when you buy tickets to a professional sporting event. The fans have plenty else to boo also. Supporting BLM painted on the field but not the Blue. The cops working security should quit. Taking away the chop. Taking away fan expression. Giving millionaires/half-billionaires a stage but not the other side. Chiefs fans are done with this BLM crap, they will never support it. The NFL makes all of their profit from TV contracts they don't need us. So just stay home and don't watch for a couple of weeks. This is supposed to be entertainment and it failed.

  37. So the teams stay in the locker room or kneel during the playing of the national anthem
But standing silently on the field is supposed to represent "national unity"?

Did not watch the game as sick of the false narrative that all white people and police are racists.

Every incident that is memorialized involves a criminal being arrest with a prior record.

  42. If you don't have the support of the fans, you can't be a good team or a dynasty.

Thank you Gobi for the most reasonable comment I've seen in this discussion.

I understand that hardcore fans don't want to see the politics in the game, but we're in historic times. I think all of us are going to have to compromise a little.

  48. maybe we should introduce the term 'resentment' into the conversation.

    ReplyDelete
  49. It's very simple: Players are employees, NFL and the owners are employers, fans are the customers.

If I were to stage a protest in front of my customers instead of the work I was hired to do the customer would fire my employer who would in turn fire me.

In this case the employer is losing business and receiving complaints over his employee's conduct and is instead coddling the employees. The result will be that the employer goes out of business when he's run off all of his customers.

Bottom line is the NFL's fan base wants football, not political unrest. If the NFL won't give the fans what they want the fans WILL abandon them.

    ReplyDelete

  52. is the state & complexity of race relations going to graduate from football into a viral Ted Talk?

    ReplyDelete
  53. I agree that this subject matter shouldn't cross over into football, and other sports. But the degree that it has reached has other organizations doing something about it. These pro teams, athletes, and organizations help the surrounding communities year round. But now that the subject matter has to do with social injustice, now it's an issue?
Yes there's free speech, but no one seems have respect anymore. In my heart, whether I agree with something, or not. I want that respect that I will always give you. It's all about caring for one another which most of us have a hard time doing. Even for their loved ones and friends.
To say a multi million dollar organization owes there fans? The organization with consessions, trainers, grounds keepers, athletes, coaches, all those employees working hard for OUR entertainment. What do the fans do? Yell, eat, and get drunk?
This is the fan base that smears KC when we lose, but acts like champs when we win. News flash, we are ALWAYS champs. 0-16, or 16-0. In the year 1960, or 2035.
Once the community is united, we can get back to some football.
But booing over social injustice just goes to show what the world has come to.
    Disrespectful, cold, selfish individuals

    1. Do you not know, and have you not pondered-- why is it called "social justice" ? (or "injustice"-that was clever). Because it is not "justice" as it is defined. Biblically speaking, a "judge" is not to consider skin color, class, wealth, etc. When such matters are considered, only injustice results. That is social justice.

  56. The Chiefs do hate America. Jocks are dumb so you cannot fully blame them for acting like idiots. You can blame their employers for indulging their idiocies. It is like letting 4 year olds run the kindergarten. It is going to end badly. Brats need discipline but ours is an indulgent age.

  57. Just boycott been a Chiefs for 30 years done with Sports there not helping the issue there just adding to the fire wake up America Land of the free home of the brave if the NFL really wanted to help they would go into inner Cities where there is a lot of violence and crime. They need to help the youth and young adults that come from broken homes with like a program that helps them stay off the streets and away from gangs.

  58. A person would have to be profoundly racist and paranoid to believe that America is a racist and white dominated society. It is not. It is the least racist society that has ever existed in place and time. There are none more open or more free. What BLM, and CTR in general, seek to do is to create a profoundly racist and enslaved society on the ashes of the old republic. Above all else, they demand conformity of thought and submission to an other - a profoundly unAmerican vision.

    ReplyDelete

  59. I'd like to extend a challenge to the NFL players. Instead of disrespectfully kneeling during the National Anthem or pushing the BLM political narrative, or playing a segregation song, how about actually doing something impactful and productive with your public platform.
    Here it is...
Get in a police cruiser and ride for one night in the most violent precincts in your city. Actually see what a night in life of the police is like. See who they interact with. See how those people respond to police. When you're done, all 1,696 of you post in social media, do TV interviews, write articles in your local newspaper about your experience. Report the facts, good, bad or indifferent. Then provide your opinion of the police AND the people they interact with. Take the "media/reporters" out of the loop and provide truth and facts. Put any preconceived bias aside. (good or bad) Remember, don't do this in the burbs, do it in the most dangerous, violent neighborhoods in your NFL city.

I would issue the same challenge to the NBA and MLB. Use your public platform for a positive, proactive movement. MLK actually got in the trenches to make change. How about all of you take one night to do the same and leave politics out of game day? If you are unaware, fans hate it when you bring politics into the game.
