TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! CORONAVIRUS DEATHS CATCHING UP TO HISTORIC KANSAS CITY HOMICIDE RATE AS COLD & FLU SEASON APPROACHES!!!
It doesn't feel like it, but Summer is almost over.
As we slide into pumpkin spice season it's important to keep track of the rising pandemic death count in Kansas City.
So far the fatalities from the virus number 101.
However . . . Tomorrow KC will add a significant addition to that tragic number.
Missouri adds 77 COVID-19 deaths; most aren't recent
Whilst MU took the greatest hit, KCMO looks to add no less than a dozen to the death count and those numbers will give local public health officials greater authority to reinforce a stricter crackdown on the public.
Critics of local COVID-19 regulations warn that they expect another lockdown before the election.
Meanwhile, bar owners are on record about their fears of a shut down which focuses on local gathering spots.
Sadly, debate over the virus has become so politicized that trust in public health officials has taken a serious hit and every drunk uncle on social media is now playing doctor with data that they're unqualified to analyze.
Whilst even the Prez Trump has worn a mask on several occasions, many of his fans decry the mandates for public health as draconian.
The only thing we know for certain is that upcoming cold & flu season won't make the virus any better and threatens to create more confusion.. Meanwhile, the official numbers are growing more concerning for Kansas City residents in much the same way that the current historic 136 homicide count and record pace of killing has also drawn nationwide attention.
None of this is cause for celebration or political chest thumping. Here at TKC we merely share news links, perspective and tonight's playlist for the contemplation and consideration of our blog community . . .
As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.
