The local politics of the pandemic hit an apex this week after word that plague infection afflicted Missouri Governor Mike Parson and the Show-Me State First Lady.

To be fair, only in the Midwest will the left vs. right debate bother with empty pleasantries and that's something that should both sides of the aisle proud even if sincerity in politics vanished around the time that the Roman senate shanked Julius Caesar.
Accordingly, check the subtext as JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATS share back handed well wishes as the pandemic hit home for a top ranking Missouri politico confronting an otherwise stalled challenge from a sophisticated yet surprisingly boring opponent . . .
"First and foremost, we hope they both recover quickly and without complications. But it HAS to be noted that Parson and other Republican leaders in Missouri (and across the nation) have generally not taken the virus seriously by continuing campaign events, avoiding mask mandates and even denying the risks associated with COVID-19. Parson drew national attention over the summer when he went on the radio to declare schools should re-open and that kinds will contract the virus. Nobody deserves to get sick, but hopefully this news will bring more attention to the risk of infection and government leaders will take safety measures more seriously."
