Shawnee Mission school board votes to start fall sports, activities immediately
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The Shawnee Mission School District will allow fall sports to begin immediately. The district made the announcement after a 5-2 vote from the school board Wednesday afternoon. Students and parents, many of whom had been protesting at the board's meeting, ran out of the building cheering after the vote.
They were afraid of lawsuits, just like Blue Valley and Olathe, so they opened sports back up.
ReplyDeleteLots of kids will get Covid and neurological issues. Forget about Austin being a doctor someday, he will be "too confused" to get the grades needed for med school admission.
ReplyDeleteMy son plays football and yesterday they set up a meeting at 630pm by 625pm the sxhool shut it down. Today we get an emergency email for the players to come back. I guess they'll be jerking the players and the parents around the whole season.
ReplyDeletefootball rules the shawnee mission schools, obviously including the administrations too.

ReplyDeleteOnce sports start there the kids will get covid and then lawsuits will happen!
sports above public health and I hope the parents who pushed for this can live with their decision
Oh gosh, if my kid gets Covid, they’ll die! Parents of the BV, Olathe, and SM districts are actually following the numbers. Covid lawsuits? Where? 9:30-you must be a Dem as you have no idea what you’re talking about.
DeleteNo one under 18 with COVID has died in the state of Kansas. If you don't like those stats and you're scared, Mommy will give you a cupcake with sprinkles and then tuck you in.
ReplyDeleteThe virus or a std from a section 8 kneegrow will destroy Karen's season.
ReplyDeleteIf teachers can be on the frontline protesting then they can be in front of a classroom.
ReplyDeleteSo the students are staying home but the jocks are still practicing and playing? Great priorities.
