KANSAS CITY STOPS CARING ABOUT MLK BLVD DEBATE AMID CAMPAIGN 2020!!!

After a street fight on The Paseo and dramatically scaled down expectations, the public has seemingly lost interest in this effort given that media outnumbered speakers at today's public listening session

KCTV5: KC Parks, Recreation Board get resident input on possible new MLK street

Deets:

"Kansas City could have an MLK Boulevard in the coming months. The Kansas City Parks and Recreation board is holding open meetings for citizens to give their input. The City is considering parts of Volker, Swope and Blue Parkway to be named after the civil rights leader.

"A total of five people spoke at the meeting Tuesday, so it wasn’t highly attended by any means. The people who were there are passionate about Martin Luther King Jr. and renaming streets. Not necessarily those two together."

Read the whole thing for a decent roundup of the effort so far.

Even better . . .

  5. I say fence off the city and let them trash themselves, then go in 12 months later, bulldoze it and start over.

Much cheaper than trying to improve it. These people don't give a shit besides what they can steal from people that work hard for what they have, in the name of BLM, "Fixing Racism" or just "reparations".

You want reparations? How about we repatriate your asses back to Africa where you came from?

  6. Karen's song :

    Institutional racism
Camara Phyllis Jones defines institutionalized racism as the structures, policies, practices, and norms resulting in differential access to the goods, services, and opportunities of society by race. Institutionalized racism is normative, sometimes legalized and often manifests as inherited disadvantage. It is structural, having been absorbed into our institutions of custom, practice, and law, so there need not be an identifiable offender. Indeed, institutionalized racism is often evident as inaction in the face of need, manifesting itself both in material conditions and in access to power. With regard to the former, examples include differential access to quality education, sound housing, gainful employment, appropriate medical facilities, and a clean environment.[33]

Grow up bucky life ain't fair to anyone. Grad a boot strap, if you don't have one make. In this country it can be done.

  7. never had to supplant one name for the other, just put another sign above the existing sign. whether that be troost or parts of 39th or 31st st, does not matter.

  10. The Council should be ashamed. Close out this conversation and rename something and let that be it. The Council continues to prove that it has misguided ambitions and wastes large amount of money on if fated projects which return zero value to the greater population in the City.

  11. Just rename Prospect. Welfare Ave sounds about right.

  12. in order to avoid the 'problem' on troost, they been searching for roads with no or few building addresses on it which never really should have been a problem

  13. the drunk skinney bitch hooker ain't the problem!

  14. More money wasted on another worthless black equality cause.

The ave white over their life contributes approximately 550K in taxes

The ave black is a net negative of 775K

Any rational black would be worshiping whites and hoping they prosper and multiply.

We have equality under the law, in fact blacks are given preferential treatment.

Equality of outcomes is a pipe dream and unrealistic.

  15. Geez, give it up already!

  16. Fuck paying the MLK family a single penny. Stop doing this you dumbasses

Also, how can they ever pick a street to rename MLK. MLK street is usually a bad area of town but in KC there are way too many bad areas of town to pick just one

maybe we can have multiple MLK streets, blvd, ave, cir, road, expressway etc

  17. The booing was not hate - it was vociferous disagreement with the BLM/critical race theory bullshit. Vilification of those who showed their disagreement by booing: that is hate.
