'It's 2020. Let's fix it.' Black men share stories on racism, policing in Johnson County

One of Ron Lackey's earliest memories is of the KKK burning a cross in his yard. Lackey, a worship leader at Legacy Christian Church, shared the story during the "I Am George Floyd" DocuSeries Live Interactive Panel Discussion held by the Advocacy and Awareness Group of Johnson County.

  1. I heard the Monday edition of the Kansas Shitty Scar was extremely thin. They have become irrelevant as a result of their own actions.

    1. Walked by a house last week and they hadn't even picked up there newspapers from the curb. they looked like the advertisements people rubber band to door knobs

  2. This story I highly doubt is true. If he is talking about Johnson County KS it is a lie. There has NEVER been crosses burned in that county by the KKK and not even in the state of Missouri or Kansas. These black people need to stop the lies. If crosses were burned in the state of Kansas it was so long ago this person would be dead from old age. Complete BS.

    1. And no fact checking by the star. We are sick of it

  3. It’s not a racism issue, it’s a rich vs poor issue, the wealthier people are always making fun of or picking on the poorer people. Simple as that, get thick skin or move.

  4. Well, he's doing nothing more than what a normal person does when pulled over by the cops regardless of race - must of been doing something wrong.

There were times when some with ties to the local p.d. could just simply ask an officer they knew to run a check on any one individual or automobile, more so if the plates weren't from joco. Weather or not it's their way to help stay safe or just wanting to start something with someone they really don't know I don't know for sure - probably both reasons.

  5. Top complaints heard about the star that will doom them soon:

    1. Refuse to fix their own racism due to cost... need to quit printing on white paper and instead need to print white ink on black paper.

    2. Address their unconscious bias against Conservatives and give Candace Owens time to write.

    3. Quit lettering and creating trip hazards on driveways. Their product should protect the Mother Earth and go online. Or better yet just do it by conference calls. No one will call in and that should save them time from having to gather news. In fact they would not need any employees and could just exist in the memories of retirees who still like to blog while remaining self-relevant.

    4. Support for KC and flavor-of-the -year Mayor. Mayor 10-10-10’a nickname has never made a headline yet and he supports the protesters and refuses to resign. Star needs to use Mayor 10-10-10 just like they fail to properly use Pro-Life and instead use Anti-abortion. Call him what he is... he is Mayor 10-10-10.

    5. The star needs to focus on giving away their content for free instead of keeping it from the poor. What a shitty thing to do. Talk about business entitlement. While they know most poor Won’t read their work even if they were paid to read it.

  6. watched a documentary from 1973 on the great Jimi Hendrix yesterday..

in some interviews with his buds.. black dudes living in luxe hotel suites..surrounded by hot blonde groupies..they , of course, went into "suppression" of blacks by Whites,.how "racism" has "kept blacks down"..yadda yadda..

yep..racial whining was there in 1973! the Democrat "racism" scam is alive and well 50 years later..

  8. Have them check with their hero Patty-cakes.
He would love to have them move in next door in his white, rich Johnson County neighborhood.

  9. Let me get this straight - Democraps have had control of most major US cities for years (detroit, baltimore, DC, Rochester, KC), including the ones that are all on fire courtesy of BLM and their Muslim backers. Now, we should elect them to even more offices, including running the country.....

    yeah... no.

  10. Every person that gets pulled over by the police is worried that they're being "caught" for something they didn't do. This isn't unique to the black experience. My white parents gave me the same speech black parents give their children - when you get pulled over, put your hands on the wheel at 10 & 2, don't make any sudden movements u, comply with the officers requests, and avoid making the officer nervous. Each time an officer pulls someone over they don't know "who" they are going to deal with. Make the situation the least stressful as possible for everyone.

I wonder where the guy grew up that had a cross burned in his yard. Surely the Star could fact check that since any instance of that in the area would be notable (i.e. because it never happens). The last thing we want to do is perpetuate fear and anxiety over a false premise.

  11. I've never had any problems when I've been pulled over by the police. Never been worried about being "caught."

  12. These assholes move to JOCO from KCMO to get out of the crime and shitty schools then they bitch about being pulled over. THAT'S HOW JOCO KEEPS CRIME DOWN DUMBASSES. Dont like it move back to KCMO or WYCO.

  13. Doubt it. Body cameras again and again disprove black claims of racial prejudice in traffic stops and police arrests. It's their go to excuse for everything.

  17. I be cruising down Metcalf Avenue when I hear cops sirens.

Look in the rear view mirror and think oh shit, that is a racist white Johnson County cop behind me.

    I pulls over.

I tucked my Schlitz Malt Liquor under the seat and rolled down the window.

With a big smile; I asked "Whatsup Mr. Police Officer"?

The Cop said, "I tell you whatsup; do you realize your temporary tags have been expired for 2 years?"

I said "This really isn't my car, this is a friend's car I be borrowing"

The police officer then said: "Well then, have a bucket of extra crispy Kentucky Fried Chicken and welcome to Johnson County as he proceeded to give me a bucket of chicken".

I takes the bucket of KFC but I'se be thinking that's racism right there because I likes original recipe. The racist motherf*cker didn't give me no sides either.

  18. 1138 FTW. No amount of riots, panels, protests, etc., there are A LOT of people who don’t want to live around blacks. Yes, we’re all human beings, but poodles and wolves are both canines yet it doesn’t mean they live the same way or typically coexist. The more that blacks start to appear in primarily white neighborhoods, the faster whites will be moving farther out.

  19. The Democrats master plan is to eliminate the suburbs for good - through zoning, taxation, sec. 8, etc.

The White liberals supporting this drivel are stupid.
