'Role models' for KC: Chamber reveals 10 finalists for Small Business of the Year award
Ten Kansas City companies - including a handful of up-and-coming startups and popular food and beverage hotspots - are vying for the Chamber's top honor: the coveted Mr. K award. "Today's the day!" said Joe Reardon, president and CEO of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, announcing the top 10 small business of the year finalists Friday morning across social media.

As much as I dislike Bezo's politics, Amazon offers the best shopping experience on the planet depending on the product. Numerous choices of style and price. Don't have to get in the car and shop 10+ stores to try to find what one's looking for. Immediate order confirmation and delivery date. Usually, easily returned if unsatisfied. Delivered to your door. Hard for certain local businesses to compete with? Yeah, but a much more effective and convenient way to shop. Bezos? Fuck him, but he saw a need and a legitimate way to fulfill it. The American business 101 model.

Walmart now trying to compete with Amazon's on-line sales. Stores are still powerhouse walk ins, but more and more dangerous due to knee grows who don't have tech skills or sufficient credit to order on line. Besides, UPS delivery would just signal thugs to steal delivery before it even hits the porch.
