Metro leaders worried by significant drop in COVID-19 testing numbers in Kansas City

Back on July 15, the Kansas City metro area averaged nearly 4,000 COVID-19 tests per day. As of Monday, it was half that, and within the past week, the average number of tests dropped about 29%. "We're doing less than 2,000 tests per day, and that's not adequate," Independence, Missouri, Mayor Eileen Weir said.Weir brought lower testing numbers up for discussion on a call of Kansas City political and health leaders."We have the capacity to do more testing that we're currently doing," Weir said.

Ultraviolet-C (UVC) devices are being used to blast away germs inside restaurants, subways and schools.
