Celebrate Kansas City Irish Fest 2020 At Home

One of our favorite Kansas City events was dramatically scaled back this year but still hopes to share their enthusiasm for all things Irish.

We love the Irish Fest for many reasons but mostly because it's almost always hampered by some calamity . . . Usually, rain but now plague this year.

Nevertheless, here's the welcome message with links to more resources and opportunities to support this annual tradition . . .

"In this challenging year, Kansas City Irish Fest is bringing the soul of Ireland to the heart of America in a different way. We’ve reimagined our 18th Irish Fest as a series of smaller, Irish-themed, locally-focused experiences that provide a safe and healthy environment for all Irish Fest fans to enjoy.

"Featuring both virtual and in-person options, there’s something for everyone. Sláinte!"

Tonight we'll be listening to the concert, enjoying some of our local faves and watching a few friends of our blog community Take a look . . .

As always, thanks for reading this week. Hopefully, we'll have more for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!

  1. Actually, the had a better crowd this year. Real fans made it out to a smaller and more distant gathering that wasn't as rowdy but still fun.

If this is the future for festivals, it's actually not that bad. Not everything needs to be packed to the gills for a good time.

  4. I did see "Irish Lives Matter" being painted on a thimble made in Ireland. Nice to see something not so "in your face" and touting an anti-American Marxist organization as several giant BLM murals in the streets.

  5. TOP PHOTO -- IRISH LIVERDANCE

One year I witnessed Michael Mahoney and Nick Haines compete in a dance-off while wearing kilts and chugging pints of Guinness. When high-kicking, they flashed the ladies with their bagpipes!!!
