Whilst Kansas City endures a HISTORIC HOMICIDE SPIKE the competition for "free money" also heats up . . . Here's a peek at one of this town's biggest slush funds that hasn't really worked to reduce the quotient of violence despite MILLION in taxpayer support.

August 29, 2020 Applications for 2021 COMBAT funding are due next Tuesday, Sept. 1 by 4:00 p.m. Applications must be completed online and submitted before this deadline. The Jackson County COMBAT program is accepting applications in four separate categories:* Violence Prevention* Substance Abuse Prevention* Substance Use Disorder Treatment* Law Enforcement School-Based Initiative Applications can only be submitted using the new online forms that can be accessed through going to jacksoncountycombat.com/2021funding.
