TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! RECALL AGAINST MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS GAINS MOMENTUM AS KANSAS CITY STAR STAYS SILENT!!!

Once again our KICK-ASS & SNARKY blog community reported, analyzed and joked the essential deets about a recall against a Kansas City mayor long before any other news outlet.

We started the critical conversation at the outset of last week wherein we examined the recall rather than simply promote it like some kind of simp social media fanboy.

Then we noted the "official launch" once the petitions were registered.

And over the weekend we talked about the strategy of the group.

There's still a lot more to consider but for now we share two insights that need to be documented . . .

CLEARLY THE PETITIONERS ARE PICKING UP MOMENTUM NOW THAT MSM HAS STARTED COVERAGE OF THE RECALL!!!

It's not a grassroots operation and we've seeing more and more Northland GOP politicos sign onto this project . . . But the citizen initiative petition thresholds are low for recall because they're based on voter turnout and it's looking more likely that this group will meet the LOW-BALL signature requirements given increasing public frustration and rampant coronavirus unemployment.

However, and this is important . . .

SHAME ON THE KANSAS CITY STAR FOR STAYING SILENT ON THE MAJOR NEWS EVENT AS THE MAYOR IS NOW UNDER FIRE FOR HIS CORONAVIRUS POLICY!!!

Dead-tree advocates claim that the newspaper is a vital function of Democracy but that's clearly not the case given how they attempted to bury this story and didn't even give much of a heads up to their subscribers paying big bucks with very little benefit.

It's not that anybody needs their coverage . . . We know already that they're working on editorials calling this group racist.

However . . .

What we've seen in this recall effort is that social media is not only taking the place of news but also that so many traditional news outlets and non-profit ventures are failing their subscribers by attempting to play gatekeeper rather than merely report the most important events happening in our community.

Whilst TKC may not totally agree with the anti-mask, Missouri Republican recall of Mayor Quinton Lucas . . . There's no denying that it's good for a laugh and represents a serious threat to the administration of an embattled politico amid a pandemic crisis.

Accordingly, we give Fox4 kudos for offering this coverage that will lead the discourse . . .

FOX4: Petitioners file paperwork calling for KC’s Mayor Lucas to resign from office

Deets:

An affidavit, filed last Thursday with the city clerk, accuses Lucas of exhibiting “poor judgement and inadequate leadership in the city’s response to COVID-19 panic and the civic unrest that occurred and continues to occur in 2020.”

“The petition is really about removing the overreach of power,” Blaylock said. “It’s a serious issue that’s hurting our city on multiple fronts. This affects everybody.”

Supporters believe the health mandates in place to curb the spread of the virus, including wearing masks, are unconstitutional and hurting small businesses.

They also point to the city’s increasing homicide rate, which is on track to outpace last year’s 150 murders.

“A good mayor is going to look like someone who objectively looks at data, objectively looks at what’s going on in our city and how to best help our city,” Blaylock said. “That person will be a person of integrity, who tells the truth the first time, and there’s no double speak involved. That’s what the constituents want.”

Supporters have 30 days to get roughly 10,000 signatures. Once the recall petition is filed, the city clerk or election authorities check the names for legitimacy.

If the signatures are certified, the mayor would have five days to resign, according to the city charter.

Read the whole thing to check the response from Mayor Lucas.

However, his dismissal of the petition as a "divisive anti-mask, partisan" effort might be a bit too casual.

TKC SNEAK PREVIEW . . .

WE ALL KNOW THIS IS GOING TO COME DOWN TO ANOTHER DEBATE OVER ALLEGED RACISM AND A CONTINUED DIVIDE BETWIXT THE NORTHLAND AND THE REST OF KANSAS CITY!!!

Whilst supporters of the recall suggest that the MLK vs. The Paseo overturn is their path to victory . . . We haven't noticed any urban or Midtown support or buy in to this effort that's quickly becoming yet another racial showdown amid an increasingly divisive epoch in American history.

Developing . . .

Damn shame these idiots haven't thought about the consequences.

And the cost to the city is unforgivable. Shame on these Republican fools.

    2. The people have a right to do it. If you don't like it, don't sign it. If they are successful you are still likely to have the opportunity to vote against it.

But what they are doing is protected by the charter. Thank goodness we are having an election rather than just governing by decree. The mayor should take a lesson from that.

  2. Imagine the boy blunder labeling others as divisive and partisan. Maybe he should do another interview with a liberal news network to raise his national standing with the left? It would give him a chance to bash Operation Legend as divisive and partisan too.

    1. 9:07 - the Democrats consistently use a tactic that sexual predators use to get out from under accountability.

It's called DARVO - deny, attack, reverse victim and offender.

It's also documented in the Rules for Radicals. A book dedicated to Lucifer by its author.

Projection and lies help install confusion. When those don't work, they use violence or other criminality (by any means necessary) to silence opposition.

  5. Lucas is too far gone. Too much stress. His policies incite violence and the destruction of small businesses. He doesn’t care. KC is headed in the wrong direction. Many Democrats know this and are signing the recall petition. Lucas should resign and go back to being a law professor...he will be much happier and do a much better job.

  8. Tony!!! I read the Recall Petition!!! Even if they can garner enough votes for a recall, there is no “reasonable”, justifiable reason for it. The foundation for the recall is that the people have a constitutional right to not wear a face mask. They don’t, plain and simple!!!
https://www.wtoc.com/2020/07/09/wearing-masks-vs-constitutional-rights/; https://www.ourmidland.com/opinion/voices/article/No-there-isn-t-a-constitutional-right-to-not-15503594.php; https://www.snopes.com/news/2020/07/23/the-constitution-doesnt-have-a-problem-with-mask-mandates/; https://www.poynter.org/reporting-editing/2020/can-the-government-legally-force-you-to-wear-a-mask/; https://www.npr.org/2020/06/28/884311357/q-a-are-face-mask-requirements-legal. Tony, explain to me how they think that they have a constitutional right or anything under the Bill of rights to wear a mask that outweighs the city's and mayor's "duty" to protect us and keep us safe if they have a strong reason to believe we are in danger...Covid 19 is a danger... What should be explained to them is that anyone acting as agents of the government I.e., the Mayor, can violate the US Constitution... plain and simple!!! This falls under the "state action" requirement...

Put simply, the "state action" requirement means that only the government - or persons acting as agents of the government (the Mayor of KCMO)- can violate the U.S. Constitution. Even private citizens acting on their own may be violating a number of other laws, but they are not violating the U.S. Constitution or the Bill of Rights,

  9. Quinton Lucas is so into BLM and racism that he's not thinking about how he is killing the city. If you want to kill your city push and support BLM and you can see what it's doing around the country. Once a city had died it will take years if ever to bring it back again. Quinton is one stupid MF'er . The problem is KC hasn't had a candidate for years. Most will think this sounds racist but you people need to either get the black people in line or get them out of the city. The BLM movement has just made them worse. You know give them an inch and they will take a mile. Put a stop to these people NOW. ANTIFA too. They aren't stable people that's clear. Put your criminals in jail and stop punishing hard working citizens.

  33. Get your sh!t together. They need 14,000 signatures and when he doesn't resign, there will be a vote. The signatures don't force a recall.

And it's got nothing to do with race. We've had two other black mayors who didn't get recalled. Not even an attempt. Stop race baiting.

I've talked to dozens of people signing the petition and nearly every one cites his disregard for the law or lawlessness. They want criminals in jail. They want Lucas and the rest of the council to enforce the law. Most want him to stop attacking the cops. Many said he only represents the 3rd district and needs to represent ALL of KC.

And every one of those people are right. He's a disaster as a mayor. His only use for KC is to launch a campaign to D.C. where he'll be an even bigger disaster. STOP HIM NOW.

He's pissed off the cops, the firemen, the 5,000 some odd city employees with a racist, bogus furlough, every small business owner, most the people in the northland, many south of 89th. Every single one of his voters in his precious 3rd district could vote for him and he's still gone.
