Summer is quickly slipping away and one of our VERY FAVORITE READERS offers this word to this wise with a warning for the future . . .
This winter, you will have to wait longer for snow removal and pothole repairs in Kansas City, Missouri. Starting this week new budget cuts go into effect that shave millions of dollars from city maintenance projects. The city is already warning that parks and boulevards will be mowed less frequently, tree trimming will be reduced and city crews won’t be available for emergency sidewalk repairs. The more than $23 million cut was considered necessary after a sharp decline in tax revenues due to the pandemic. This week, the City Council will also consider cutting back its curbside recycling service and a plan to furlough city workers.
Lovely 👎👎👎 and who knows the cuts we don’t know and what further cuts will come when they discover they overestimated revenues? I hope they keep filtering the water :(
Developing . . .
word to the wise indeed. Maybe time to take stock and scale back.
ReplyDeleteWait longer for snow removal? Like it was speedy in the past?
ReplyDeleteUnless you live on Ward Parkway the "snow removal" is a nice sunny day. Hopefully 12th and Oak dont screw that up too.
Like I said earlier, just wait until basic city services start failing. This is only the beginning. Buy hey! We've got a really cool toy choo choo and a partially built airport that wasn't needed befor the zombie virus cooties and definitely isn't going to be needed after. Maybe they can turn it into an Amazon fulfillment center?
ReplyDeleteKansas City City Government doesn't currently remove snow or fill potholes; so no loss there.
ReplyDeleteFolks have learned to work remote.
The worker bees will stay home and work remote on snow days so the City of Kansas City will lose more sales tax revenue from worker bees NOT dining out for lunch or shopping.
Kansas City government (Mayor) has done everything possible to run off businesses and have destroyed KCMO's sale tax and earnings tax revenue base.
Unbelievable, but stupid is what stupid does.
It's called the Marxist Democrat Party for a reason.
Wait for class-action on people refusing to pay E-Tax that are sitting home outside KC working. Mayor Q-ball will need to dust off the law books to figure this one out.
ReplyDelete^^Nobody knows what you said earlier because you post too much and we skip your propaganda.
ReplyDeleteYou can't even speak for yourself, Chimptastic! Lol
DeleteDon’t forget screwing the employees who do the work out of a week’s pay. Oddly, they exempt police, fire, Water, Aviation and those making under $20 an hour. Curious how many Black Lives they are hurting for a measly 2 million? OR, did those exemptions make this more about white lives? Most incompetent, corrupt city leadership in history. Pendergast was corrupt, but not an idiot.
ReplyDeletePendergast was corrupt no doubt but at least he did good things for Kansas City and not destroying the city. The fountians all worked, streets taken care of, had a mass transit system that also worked and covered more than 2 miles.
ReplyDeleteOh and he didn't have an E-tax either.
^^But he lived in KC, you don’t, so shut up loser. Go back to Frogville and fuck up that blog.
ReplyDeleteWait...My bike lanes won't have snow removal? I'm filing an ADA complaint.
ReplyDeleteDon’t worry the city has lots of money for the bike lanes !
Delete
ReplyDeleteBut yet they can waste plenty of money changing street signs and painting racist graffiti on the streets. I have an idea make the black people in KC pay for once.
No surprise here. Kansas City has always neglected maintenance and repair of the city’s infrastructure. Many properties in KC are still on sceptic tanks. KC has always been a hillbilly town. Most of the people in the Metro area live in the suburbs.
ReplyDeleteOn top of all that a civil/race war will start November 4th after a Trump landslide. Within a week BLM and Antifa will be defeated. Dead or in jail. Once the dust settles the adults can clean up Lick Ass and the City Clowncil mess. Spring will be a new start in America.
ReplyDelete^^Cuckoo...cuckoo...cuckoo...
ReplyDeleteHi, I am Joe Biden. I have been eating shit before you learned how to tie your shoes.
ReplyDeletePaid for by JoeBiden2020
^^and yet he's your next president, and it's really not even close. Super weird.
ReplyDeleteWell, no, not so much. But you're right about it not being close Chimpy ol chimp.
DeleteBiden/Ferraro will be a landslide alright. Joe and the Ho are gonna get buried.
ReplyDelete^^lame.
ReplyDeleteAre you sitting on those ^^, ^^boy?

ReplyDeleteone of YOUR COMMENTERS predicts a bad winter for us and you somehow think that's relevant
#negativenelly
There is by now no reason why MBEs and WBEs can't compete for construction contracts on common terms with all other bidders. If they have not learned how to do that by now, they're hopelessly incompetent. Continuation of the set-asides is no more than extortion.
ReplyDeleteTHE WRATH OF THE AWAKENED SAXON
ReplyDeleteby Rudyard Kipling
It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.
They were not easily moved,
They were icy -- willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.
Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.
It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.
It was not suddently bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.
