TKC MUST READ!!! ABOUT LAST NIGHT: KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS SHARES BAD REVIEWS OF CORONAVIRUS PARTY DISTRICT PRECAUTIONS!!!

Last night the mayor toured local party places and found a myriad of lax COVID-19 precautions in place.

To wit . . .

THIS MORNING MAYOR Q CALLS OUT KANSAS CITY PARTY DISTRICTS FOR 'WEAK' ENFORCEMENT OF MASK MANDATES & SOCIAL DISTANCING RULES!!!

Of course, the Mayor's social media pronouncements are being met with a great deal of resistance online.

Contrarily . . .

Over the past week, critics of Mayor Quinton Lucas have galvanized a surprising level of support for a recall in a quickly growing social media group.

We'll wait and see if any legit effort springs forth from these locals angry about pandemic enforcement, but it's clear that residents have grown more critical of the mayor and his orders over the past few weeks.

And so . . .

Here's Mayor Q showing commitment to his mandates and taking to the streets in order to get an up close & personal glimpse on Kansas City hotspots failing to live up to rules . . .

More informed & KICK-ASS insiders warn us that this might be a preview of a KCMO bar shut down redux.

Checkit:

The setup from Mayor Q . . .

"A few thoughts from last night. Clearly, writing you now suggests I was not out that late and I was not, wrapping at about 11:30p. Many bar owners are trying and have created better physical distancing indoors and others require all to be seated. Many others, however, are not."

"Semi-covered rooftop bar spaces, in particular, were a weak spot. Several other places had what appeared to be full-fledged dance parties inside. Mask requirements for indoor places of public accommodation at least for staff were generally followed, at least when I walked in."

"One area of concern is a growing number of huge house and block parties with music blaring late into the night, non-permitted closed streets, and no adherence to rules or recommendations. An externality of regulation is unregulated bars/clubs, which we have seen in areas."

A preview of a more stringent crackdown clearly in the works . . .

"Legal and practical considerations on informal spread events. Health regs give pretty extensive authority on threats to public health, so can reach that way. That said, enforcement reality is much tougher particularly with non PD involvement."

  2. He will not get a second term as it is. If having is head on a pike counts as leaving office early, you might be right. Funny that he is bitching about the masks and social distancing when he himself ignores both for selfies at the lake. he ceded that holier than thou ground there.

  3. Of course Quinton Lucas visited all the bars...fact is, Quinton Lucas is a well known alcoholic. Any decisions Lucas makes are under the influence of alcohol. Maybe that is approved by KU law school but not approved by the good people of Kansas City. Please get help Mayor Lucas.

  6. Hmmm it's like the young ppl aren't even afraid, as though the virus poses no real risk to them or ppl under 80 with no other comorbidities.

  7. And yet the mayor is doing his job. Weird.

  8. The city is facing a myriad of problems, including an upcoming fiscal calamity, and he goes bar hopping on the city's dime to find out if too many people are having too much fun. And he is proud of it!

Mayor Dumass should be dealing with the existential crises facing city government, not taking drunken selfies at the few businesses in KC that are still trying to make it somehow.

  9. Upcoming fiscal calamity? They've already screwed that pooch until it's dead! The calamity will only get worse, especially with legalized theft (tax revenues not looting) cratering.

  10. Apparently the cost of the Power and Light District is not only north of $25-million, but also live and the health of the community at large this year.

  11. It’s not a law folks, it’s called guidelines that can’t really be enforced. But in typical killa shitty fashion, he will punish everybody else but the people he accuses of not following “his rules”.

Funny how the health dept. isn’t out doing inspections... hell, they’re not doing anything but hiding in their offices or basements.

  13. Why should Lucas be concerned about "enforcing" his mandates in the entertainment districts?
When he issued a curfew for the rioters and they simply ignored it, he pardoned every person that the police cited.
Lucas is all over the map and more and more folks just ignore whatever he has to say.
It's sad to see someone completely squander his credibility, reputation, and potential this early in a four-year term and the remaining three years will likely be as drifting and unfocused as his tenure has been so far.
And he and the current council haven't really even addressed the most serious issues facing KCMO yet.
    Sad.

    1. 1238 Yeah just look at all the full hospitals and ppl dying...truth is almost half of alleged deaths are in nursing homes in 5 dem states.

Hmm kinda makes you wonder if they are intentionally infecting old ppl to create mass deaths n hysteria.

  16. wrapping

Okay I'm may not be up on the latest street slang but what the hell does "wrapping at about 11:30p." mean?

Time for the recall is NOW! This idiot can't talk correctly let alone lead a city of this size.

  22. Close the bars before it’s too late and thousands die of the virus.

    ReplyDelete
  23. ^^^^^Show even one person in Kansas or Missouri who has died of the virus that was transmitted in a bar. Thousands?! What a clown.

  25. Q is as incompetent as they come. Numbers and facts don’t matter, it’s all about feelings. In no business would feelings dictate how things are run.

  26. Whatever happens, leave the hood bars open. Parteeeeeee!

  27. Not all bars should be punished. I know several bars that enforce social distancing and mask rules very strictly. Punish those who don't comply. It's pretty simple. Stop taking it out on everyone. Soon no one in this town will have a job except people who work at amazon and for the government.

  28. If Mayor Q shuts down bars and restaurants again he is so done in KC. I used to like him and supported the first shutdown. But not anymore. KU and St. Lukes both have several empty floors waiting for Covid patients that were never touched. Those wards remain empty. This is getting to be ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah sure you can protest all you want but don't dare support locally owned businesses and hard working employees.

  30. Like most democrats he only cares about the rights of criminals and protestors.
