TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY RECALL PETITION AGAINST MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS THREATENS TO BACKFIRE!!!

The recall effort against Mayor Quinton Lucas is gaining momentum as it moves forward and it's clear that petitioners will easily meet the low threshold to force a vote required by the charter.

However . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS WARN THAT MAYOR Q WILL WIN A RECALL VOTE EASILY!!!

Polling for the August primary suggested that Mayor Q's popularity is intact in most parts of this town. So far the signature collecting effort is concentrated in the Northland and often outside of city limits with very little support in more densely populated voter enclaves like Midtown, Plaza and the Corridor. To be fair, in the election election that Mayor Q won -- Turnout from Clay & Platte County wasn't a factor and the Northland opted out with single digit returns . . . Recall proponents are hoping the pandemic will inspire more participation on the nice side of the bridge; historically Springtime votes are low turnout affairs.

Nevertheless and as always, TKC is agnostic in this and almost every debate regarding pandemic political power plays but this insider word confirms the polling that we've seen which also doesn't bode well for down ballot Missouri progressive politicos or local Biden supporters when weighed against rural red state Missouri Republicans . . . For now, here's how the numbers MIGHT apply locally:

"There was polling done early August to prevent local control and change insider opinion away from a November vote (it clearly worked!), and that polling included approval ratings for Mayor Lucas. Here's the kicker: Even in the conservative slanted poll, Lucas had a 67% approval rating. The only place that it was even close was in the Northland, but he's winning handily everywhere else.

"The consultant class is saying if Lucas is in a recall vote, he will defeat it so heavily that nobody will challenge his re-election, and he can coast for 6 more years. With poll numbers like that, that sounds like exactly what's going to happen."

  1. I've kept asking the recall petitioners one question that they won't answer: Who will replace Mayor Lucas?

Do we really want Jolie Justus back?

    Nope.

    This is a nuisance petition.

I know that you claim there are Republicans behind it TKC. But it really just seems like they don't know what they're doing at all. They could be giving Q another term.

    1. All of the recall petitioners are doing is screwing the Northland. The Mayor has no reason to care about our part of the city now if all of us come out against him. This was always a dumb plan and it ruins a lot of the things we've been been trying to accomplish.

Truth is, the dolts who took the bait from Jeff City are new to this and they don't realize they're getting used also.

  5. Central Hyde Park is NOT behind Lucas!!!

  6. ^^^ Maybe not, but you and your dipstick friends were dumb enough to buy huge houses in the middle of crime infested neighborhood and then complain when you got robbed. The three dozen of you need to move back to Roeland Park and just live in your ranch house basements. You would feel safer.

  7. Well if Lucas wins and stays in office he will have a strike against him with the recall. Won't look good for him if he thinks he's going to stay in politics. Anyone who doesn't go against this guy is about as anti American as Saddam Hussein with letting him rob and loot the city and tax the people with nothing to show for it. That's a true dictator.

  8. I like Mayor Lucas because he is a Tom.

  9. I think Lucas beats the recall but it's a bad sign for KC overall, it looks like the North districts 1&2 just aren't connected to Kansas City. How are we going to come together as a country when we can barely keep a city together?

  10. What are the mechanics of secession should the Northland try?

    ReplyDelete
  11. 9:22 what a piece of shit you are

    ReplyDelete
  12. secession is illegal just like it is for the u.s.

The best way to approach it would be de-annexation.

Not very easy but some of the outskirts of the Northland would be easy to let go of since KCMO doesn't take care of theme anyway. The problem is that Liberty and Platte County don't want to pay for them either.

Worthless and expensive rural and suburban areas.

  13. Just want to add that they cost much more than the meager tax revenue they generate.

  17. People, the mayor and the third district clowncil members forget that the third district goes all the way to independence and raytown, there’s a significant number of white people who are pissed because every dime spent in the third district stops at prospect. We’re sick and tired of being ignored in the real eastside, bald man bad, meeLisa rob in go and Ellington are racist pigs who only care about themselves and the fat fake revs. They’re done.

    Lucas is toast.

  18. TOP PHOTO -- YADA YADA YADA

Born a poor black child...we were homeless.
I decided to go to law school to fulfill my mother's dream.
I could have gone to D.C. or NYC, but decided to come back to KC.
I established "residency" with an apartment in the 3rd District.
My handlers got me a position at KU Law School to stay out of KC controversy.
As soon as I announced for the City Council, my handlers had local media calling me a future Mayor.
I'm not married, no kids, own no KC real estate, worked in Lawrence KS, and local media never questioned my "deep KCMO ties."
I shift positions on the issues like a chameleon changes color.
When I continually referred to myself as a Law Professor, only 1 media reporter eventually forced me to admit the lie.
I pledged to keep KCMO 2020 homicides under 100, because I knew media wouldn't hold me to it.
When I talk to white people I use proper English, I'm pro-police, moderate in my positions, and talk about growing business in KC.
When I talk to black people I use a lot of slang/Ebonics, I'm pro-BLM, liberal Democrat in all my positions, and talk about growing marijuana and the welfare state in KC.
When I talk to brown people I repeat a couple of Spanish catchphrases I memorized, but let's be honest, I rarely talk to brown people. Comprende???

  19. folks, you're forgetting that if biden wins, the mayor will be moving to washington, d.c. for a sinecure.

  20. This is all predicated on higher vote turnout.

    In the Spring.

    Really?

If Trump wins or loses, like TKC says, people usually don't vote in March elections. The numbers are dismal. That's probably an advantage for Lucas. If so many people hated him, he wouldn't have beat Jolie.

  22. 11:45 I know there’s almost 14,000 no votes on the recall so..... low voter turnout works for me!

Seriously people, why sign a recall and then not vote? C’mon man!

  23. Ooooh nooos don't recall it might backfire.

How can it backfire...if it loses he still is only in office same as before.

The media thinks you are stupid...and it's mostly right because your are brainwashed to trust and believe them.

  24. The issue with most signers I've talked to is Q doesn't represent the northland at all, or anywhere outside his home district. It's odd that voters support Q, but opposed his takeover of KCPD at the same time. Something about that doesn't sound right.

Saying they "support him" and showing up to vote for him in a special election are two different things. And much will depend on who the group puts up as a replacement.

They are well aware that losing will empower him, but little to lose since he's completely out of control anyway.

  25. These recall folks remind me off the folks who did not like Obama. They were blurry in there answers as to why they did not like his policy. It was apparent that it was the color of his skin that they did not like.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The kneejerk right wing nattering nabobs of negativity just shot themselves in the foot with a poorly thought out petition that leaves Q even stronger.

As with any zealots, they are their own best enemy. Now, popcorn please while Bandit does the riverdance.

  27. Who paid for this survey? Yea, I thought so. Those furloughed/fired city employees paid for it.

So, Q has been screaming local control of PD for months. This survey told him that overwhelmingly, people did NOT SUPPORT LOCAL CONTROL, BUT, those SAME people overwhelmingly supported Q? Something doesn't sound right. We KNOW they don't support local control, because they dropped it. So, my guess is he's lying about his popularity.

Doesn't matter. Northland alone can boot his ass. He literally won't see it coming since he doesn't know the Northland exists.
