TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY RECALL PETITIONERS AGAINST MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS RALLY SUBURBAN OPPOSITION!!!
As the coronavirus pandemic worsens and the ensuing economic recession grows more dire, local opposition against Mayor Quinton Lucas seems to be meeting with a surprising level of support.
Moreover, here are two things we've noticed . . .
MSM HAS MOSTLY SILENCED THE RECALL AGAINST MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS!!!
Right-wing radio has offered some publicity but so far there hasn't been a worthwhile TV report -- Which is where most of KC gets its news.
Finally . . .
RECALL SIGNATURE GATHERING IS FOCUSED ON THE NORTHLAND AND MOSTLY WHITE SUBURBS!!!
This strategy is twofold . . . Political neophytes and the clueless shouldn't ignore all of the signs of a GOP-backed effort with Missouri Republican operatives sharing right-wing memes and talking points in the rapidly growing social media group. Voters against Mayor Lucas are likely pro-Trump supporters as well. There is clearly an element of recruitment and donor listing at play.
And then . . .
We'll give them time on this but the absence of an urban, Midtown or even Plaza locations will likely prove problematic from a PR & legal standpoint according to insiders. Sure, any KCMO resident can sign onto a recall petition but a signature gathering process focused totally on suburban mostly white districts has the potential to be thrown out on the grounds of disenfranchisement according to the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Stranger things have happened and let's not pretend that a successful signature gathering process won't end up in court one way or another.
Nevertheless, it is a FACT that the recall petitioners continue to move forward at an impressive pace whilst the Mayor & local media are doing their best to ignore the clear signs of frustration with his coronavirus leadership.
Here's the group's Sunday agenda . . .

Go Quinton Go!
ReplyDeleteAre there republicans involved? Sure, why not? But don't underestimate the grassroots element of the protest against Quinton Lucas. There are a lot of small business owners who have been horribly hurt by his actions and those are the main people who are signing on.
DeleteKC needs real leadership, no someone who just does what the protesters say.
Hey now, if the Northland got the Paseo named correctly, they should be able to do this with NO PROBLEM. Great job, happy to sign.
DeletePetition will be dismissed.
ReplyDelete^^^
DeleteNot likely. Will probably get all the signatures they need in first two weeks.
Can’t be dismissed
DeleteAlmost all Northland with just Martin City far out south.
ReplyDeleteActually, I think if they went in Brookside/Waldo they would get more support than most people think.
You will definitely get Hyde park signatures! Property owners in Hyde park that is!
ReplyDeleteA closed Applebee's! Great idea! Lots of foot traffic? But why not in the middle of a cornfield or a vacant lot? How about the middle of a pond?
ReplyDeleteIf that's their mentality, Q has no worries.
We will also be at center court of Metro North Mall, on a raft underneath the Kit Bond Bridge, in the parking lot of Municipal Stadium and 12th and Vine. Come see us!
ReplyDeleteImagine that! Suburbs are tired of funding an irresponsible, closeted, jackass letting hood rats run wild.
ReplyDeleteImagine that! You don't even live in the city, let alone Missouri, so why bother commenting?
ReplyDeleteBoycott lucus
DeleteQuinton must go. I'll sign.
ReplyDeleteLucas should have to live under an overpass after he gets tossed.
ReplyDeleteSomebody please inform Jackson County that there are no suburbs withing Kansas City city limits. I'm sure that they will be more than happy to stop collecting taxes there. Also please infrom Google Maps, Garmin, Rand McNally, et al of same.
ReplyDeleteBWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Libtard geography is fun!
They are staying out of the downtown area because it's safer in the outer parts of town. Besides nobody but hoods downtown you will rob you or shoot you.
ReplyDeleteThey are at 5th and Main today also
ReplyDelete@11:39 Really. Are you sure. Those central Hyde Parker's are radical.
ReplyDeleteTHAT NIGGA GOT 2 GO
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, we need to turn this dem run city back to the respectable public republic it used to be enough of bending over for the rugs in this city wwg1wga Italian style
DeleteThere is so much hostility in the Northland to all aspects of City Government that this is probably a smart move. Not only does the Northland continuously experience neglect and contempt from City Government, but the farce of "reDistricting" after the last census still rankles.
ReplyDeleteInstead of adopting the only sane redistricting method, East/West lines drawn from State Line to the Eastern City limits, adjusted North/South every ten years, the City moved 9,000 Northlanders into the Fourth District, ignoring their own rules against noncontiguous boundaries! Since then the "orphans of the North" have had absolutely no Council representation (thanks, Shields/Bunch)!
Of course, adopting rational District lines would mean there would no longer be four Council seats guaranteed to a certain Minority, since everyone knows no Minority member could ever be elected to City Office without that sinecure.
Also, adopting those rational District Lines would allow "Schwartzers" onto Ward Parkway, and the City could never allow that!
^^^ Yes, and there might even be the remote possibility of a Hispanic Councilperson - HORRORS!

ReplyDeleteDid you know that the Mayor's last name is actually "WILSON"?
Quinton's biological father, the one he says he never met, was one Thomas O. Wilson. The Missouri Court of Appeals determined in 1998, when Quinton was 13 years old, that Ricardo Lucas was in prison at the time Quinton was conceived. Blood tests excluded Lucas as the father and reported Wilson's probability of paternity as 99.85%. A second blood test reported that Wilson had a 99.99% probability of paternity.
On May 4, 1995, the State filed a petition on the behalf of Quinton for the declaration of paternity and for support under the Uniform Parentage Act (“UPA”), § 210.817 et seq., RSMo 1994, in Jackson County Circuit Court. The petition alleged that either Lucas or Thomas Wilson (“Wilson”) was the natural father of Quinton. Wilson filed an answer in which he denied all counts. Lucas never answered.

In the United States legal system, a child is given the last name of the biological father, unless court filings alter that default.
KCMO, MEET YOUR REAL MAYOR, QUINTON WILSON!!!
"As the coronavirus pandemic worsens and the ensuing economic recession grows more dire, local opposition against Mayor Quinton Lucas seems to be meeting with a surprising level of support." Fat Tony, Today
ReplyDeleteThis may be the most disingenuous statement you've ever written on this site. And you've put some lying ass bullshit on here in the past. Nice effort.
It's absolutely true. The Mayor is a silly failure.
DeleteI'm not sure whom this group would replace Mayor Lucas with. All the Democratic politicians in this city are cut from the same cloth. Lucas would be classed as a moderate compared to many of them.
ReplyDeleteThat's what makes Democrats so hilarious to Americans.
DeleteThey suck on the monopoly teet, complain about their lack of choices, lie about and attack anyone threatening the monopoly and then cry out when larger jurisdictions have to come in to clean up the PREVENTABLE messes.
Americans laugh. But then we cry because of all the minorities slaughtered by Democrat policies for Democrat profits.
As a conservative Northlander, I pretty much have contempt for the entire shitty administration.
ReplyDeleteProblem is........I don't see anyone on the horizon worth replacing Qbald with.
A recall coupled with a fiscally responsible alternative would cause me to get off my butt to sign a petition.
Hall is one to consider. She is a conservative, pro-police, and a Northlander.
DeleteThanks for an honest answer. Q is the only electable and elected choice. The Northland or white vote is not sufficient to elect a replacement. Furthermore Q is steering a middle path of murals and cosmetic name changes while avoiding escalation. A good route for all parties while the rest if the country figures out where we are really headed.
DeleteThe level of support isn't surprising. Lucas is pathetic.
ReplyDeleteThe Black Lives Matter Global Network is as powerful as it is because of our membership, our partners, our supporters, our staff, and you. Our continued commitment to liberation for all Black people means we are continuing the work of our ancestors and fighting for our collective freedom because it is our duty.
ReplyDeleteEvery day, we recommit to healing ourselves and each other, and to co-creating alongside comrades, allies, and family a culture where each person feels seen, heard, and supported.
We acknowledge, respect, and celebrate differences and commonalities.
We work vigorously for freedom and justice for Black people and, by extension, all people.
We intentionally build and nurture a beloved community that is bonded together through a beautiful struggle that is restorative, not depleting.
We are unapologetically Black in our positioning. In affirming that Black Lives Matter, we need not qualify our position. To love and desire freedom and justice for ourselves is a prerequisite for wanting the same for others.
We see ourselves as part of the global Black family, and we are aware of the different ways we are impacted or privileged as Black people who exist in different parts of the world.
We are guided by the fact that all Black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, immigration status, or location.
We make space for transgender brothers and sisters to participate and lead.
We are self-reflexive and do the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence.
We build a space that affirms Black women and is free from sexism, misogyny, and environments in which men are centered.
We practice empathy. We engage comrades with the intent to learn about and connect with their contexts.
We make our spaces family-friendly and enable parents to fully participate with their children. We dismantle the patriarchal practice that requires mothers to work “double shifts” so that they can mother in private even as they participate in public justice work.
We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.
We foster a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise).
We cultivate an intergenerational and communal network free from ageism. We believe that all people, regardless of age, show up with the capacity to lead and learn.
We embody and practice justice, liberation, and peace in our engagements with one another.

Good read. Thanks for posting.
DeleteWe also believe in assault, intimidation, looting and property damage. Left out the fun stuff....
DeleteBunch of racist garbage.
ReplyDelete@4:33-No! TL/DR nobody has any kind of time for this! Do better.
ReplyDelete^^^ Doesn't read what he supports.
ReplyDelete^^Nobody supports long screeds. Either way. Dummy! Learn it, know it live it! Shine box, you should get it now.
ReplyDeleteWho We Are & What We Do
ReplyDeleteThe Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the largest socialist organization in the United States. We believe that working people should run both the economy and society democratically to meet human needs, not to make profits for a few. We are a political and activist organization, not a party; through campus and community-based chapters, DSA members use a variety of tactics, from legislative to direct action, to fight for reforms that empower working people.

A few of my inner circle have business under 75 people. They do not think Mayor 10-10-10 knows what he is doing and it’s destroying their business.
ReplyDeleteMany many many eateries will close and never come back because of one man. He never had to listen to Archer.
Florida isn’t like this. But many liberal Femocratic cities are.
MYCity Deblasio is the worst mayor in the US.
Mayor 10-10-10 isn’t far behind.
Businesses will flee and just close. Poverty like you’ve never see is a result.
Perhaps the voters should really vet who they vote for.
Pure Karma.
Demonrats vet candidates? Most Demonrats need to be put down for rabies by a vet.
ReplyDeleteFood for thought...
ReplyDeleteTrump/Lucas similarities...
1) Both in Office primarily through the good fortune of having an unlikeable Female Opponent to run against
2) Both incompetent and of limited intellect.
3) Both no longer caring about their duties due to their disappointment after facing criticism.
4) Both having murky morality.
5) Both doomed to one term in office.
I signed it yesterday. I'm all in to get Lucas out!
ReplyDeleteRecalls never work.
ReplyDeleteYou are being scammed.
How'd that Frank white recall from a few years ago work out?
The primary reason for the locations is safety. Q has banned large gatherings, sporting events, etc. The places one would normally get signatures. Instead, supporters are forced to set up tables day to day and advertise on social media. Most businesses run them off, NOT because they don't support them, but they fear retribution from either the City or BLM. Both are a travesty. This is part of the political process. Intimidation is voter suppression. AND, the volunteers need to be safe. Anybody who doesn't think these concerns are realistic are fools. I've seen any number of people say they WANT to sign but are concerned their names/addresses will come out. THIS IS WRONG. This is why Q and this council need to go. #recallQ
ReplyDeleteThe support the recall movement has received has clearly surprised a lot of people. Good. Who knows what the end result will be, but this is gaining momentum and the first couple of days have yielded many, many signatures. At the very least the mayor now knows he is not liked by everyone and he can't stand that, which is one of the reasons he is so wishy-washy. He is consistent in one way - he continues to be a major disappointment.
ReplyDeleteQ is the mayor of ALL KCMO, not just the 3rd district. There is no requirement for signatures to come from any particular neighborhood. If 14,000 voters sign, regardless of where they live, it goes to a vote of the people. At THAT time, any/all are welcome to vote their opinion. Stop with legal advice you know nothing about. The biggest complaint I heard from signers was "the lawlessness" and "he doesn't represent us". No recalls of Sly or Cleaver. This isn't about race, it's about performance, or lack of. Lucas has accomplished NOTHING and seeks to tear us down, not rebuild KC. He needs to GO. At-large councilpersons come next. Guess what, you aren't untouchable.
ReplyDeleteQuinton Lucas sure was hanging out at the chiefs parade. Imagine the super bowl being shut down.
ReplyDeleteFOLKS figuring out CORONA VIRUS being sprayed nationwide by planes aka chemtrails.
Start looking up you'll see it.
