Show-Me Guv Parson Talking Jacob Blake Civil Unrest Uprising & Missouri Policing

A politic response with a nod to KC over STL . . .

Guv Parson: “Every day, we ought to be focusing on how we can do better,” Parson said. “I think you see Kansas City taking a look at that. I know this week, they were talking about that, which is good. We need to have that discussion.”

Missouri Gov. Parson responds to protests over Jacob Blake shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Gov. Mike Parson spoke out on the shooting of Jacob Blake this week in Kenosha, Wisconsin, both commending efforts to reform policing and condemning violent protests. A police officer shot Blake, a 29-year-old Black man, seven times in the back as Blake reached inside of his SUV on Aug.

  1. Republican governor praises KC handling of protests. Many of us on Tony's have pointed out the obvious all along: KC is handling the protests well so far by avoiding violent escalation. Maybe the widgets-for-brains will believe their own govs words:

While praising the state’s and Kansas City’s work on police reform, the governor also condemned criminal actions associated with protests.

    Harris' own words.

  4. ^^Good. We need more riots. Cops are killers and need to be brought down. She has my vote!

  5. Just like the false narrative of "Hands up don't shoot", Most MSM is falsely repeating Blake was "shot in the back seven times."

Shot at 7 times, hit in the back 4 times.

This is old news, why is inaccurate information perpetuated when even his lawyer Crump admitted 4 times? No matter how you feel about it, doesn't facts matter anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  6. ^^and yet the cop shot at him 7 times. Doesn't make one bit of difference if only 4 hit him. He fired 7 times!!! Weird.

    1. The real shame is this complete scumbag is still alive. Cops need more time with target practice. Actually, give them bigger guns. That might work.

  10. Bandit, slow your posts down. 9:39 wasn't defending criminals in any way. Sometimes it's better to be thought stupid, than to open your mouth and prove it.

Blake was shot at seven times, and hit four, which tells you why the cop shot seven times. Cops are bad shots. It's why when five cops confront a single suspect, they all empty their mags, and only end up with a couple hits. They need to spend more time on the range so they don't waste that good ammo.

  11. 9:50 Given the fact he was escaping, leaning into the floor area, (not seating himself), It could be assumed he was reaching for something (maybe his Bible or Ben Crumps business card).

Exactly what is the protocol of split second self defense if neutralizing the threat of either a weapon or escape into a weapon? Are cops or anyone else for that matter just going to wait for a Northern exposure for fairness and optics sake? AND if a justified shoot, which it probably technically was, I agree it doesn't make a bit of difference if he shot at him once or 50 times. Fuck the stupid sumbitch.

  12. Yeah, accuracy tends to go out the window when the perp is fighting you and going for a weapon. He wasn't supposed to be there. The police were there to remove him, His bad going stupid. Justified kill. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes. Ask the three comrades up in Wisconsin.

  22. Just to chime in, being a retired LEO I see things a little different that what is shown on the news. Remember, the news shows you what they want you to see. Not always is it "what really happened".

Wisconsin has online court records much like Missouri's 'Case Net'. A search for Jacob Blake shows he had on that day an active felony warrant and two misdemeanors. 1) Criminal Trespass, 2) Sexual Assault, 3) Disorderly Conduct.

On one news outlet showing the 1st video, they interviewed the person who filmed it, he said he heard the police telling him to drop the knife, he went on to say "I didn't see him with a knife". The report of the knife being recovered from the vehicle wasn't made public a day or two after the video.

So here's my take away...leave the race out of it and look at him a a person.

Police show up as caller says "he's not to be here" (protection order?), police arrive and speak with person, at some point I'm sure the police ask for his ID, discover warrant and attempt to take him into custody. A scuffle breaks out, something about a knife (remember 21 foot rule), a taser is deployed, no effect...second officer taser deployed, no effect...subject breaks free and decides he wants no part of being arrested and tries to leave.

I would assume the police have identified themselves and that he was under arrest, now attempting to stop him from leaving. He gets to the car and tosses the knife in.

Police have no idea if he is getting a gun, and after what just happened they are protecting the bystanders, children and themselves.

It's sad, it was a poor choice by that person to place himself if further escalation and attempt to get his children involved.

In another video a woman is heard yelling at him to stop, she isn't talking to the police but the person trying to leave.

Now am I wrong to think in rare cases some persons think they have a privilege no not obey they law, resist arrest or place others in harm because they are not white?

If the media would tell the 'whole' story we might be better informed why something happened.

  26. 2:30 PM Thank you for the information. Sadly very few will present the available information factually and timely. This whole racial movement is based in false narratives that are in time exposed but never corrected. BLM, media and others seek to solidify the false narratives immediately, because that will ultimately be what people believe.

Forget race, routine encounters with criminals are sometimes not pretty or polite. The optics can be emotionally stressfully to those who already have been manipulated to believe they are all under daily attacks by police. I am amazed that we actually have a segemdnt of the population that is spring loaded to defend the criminal element to the end point of sainthood, ignoring any facts to the contrary.

Lets not even get started on the mostly peaceful protests that result instantly across the nation for reparation shopping.

I have no idea why any elected Mayor, Gov or basket maker would need to jump in and comment on social media about something that isn't about their state and or of which they have any real knowledge. Weird shit, career ruining weird. Right Weird guy ? Bi-ron step in and shoot your mouth off.
