Kansas City Police & Preachers Pray For Peace Amid Historic Murder Spike

Here's a glimpse at a faith-based press conference collab that evokes warm-fuzzy feelings but probably won't help to curb the rising homicide rate as KCMO violence continues . . . Checkit:

Kansas City Police and Local Faith Leaders Launch Partnership to Address Violence

The Kansas City Police Department and local faith leaders launched an initiative Tuesday aimed at tackling the city's growing violent crime rate, hoping to connect the neighborhoods with little-known police resources like social workers and community officers.

  1. Fat revruns doin' what they do. Marchin', preachin', prayin', and passin' the hat around. They can't wait for Kamala to put them in charge of the neighborhoods so they can solve all of the problems.

  2. It wasn't all that long ago that the revs' top issue was bypassing the city charter, intimidating the KCMO electeds, and shoving the renaming of the Paseo down residents' throats.
So now after literally decades of violence and murders in the neighborhoods east of Troost, these same "men of the cloth" have at last decided that they're going to play some role in the safety of their community?
    Follow the money.
The "gun buy-back" is a joke and somehow it seems unlikely that the murderers, rapists, robbers, burglars, and gang-bangers are going to heed any second hand words of the Lord.
Yet another KCMO "program" that willfully ignores the issue.
Just hope the feds continue to be successful in rounding up the thugs.

  3. All this is simple, they need face time to make it look like they care and the city to give them money. It’s always about the free money for nothing bit with these asshats.

  4. These same black churches were the ones inciting racism and violence. Sorry but most of them are not Christians and they should really read what the Bible says. Just take a look at Cleaver, and what he stands for. Look at Rev Wright from Chicago. The AME church? Isn't that racist too? Pretty sure it is.

I guess I just don't understand all the praying to the invisible man in the sky who apparently doesn't care about his faithful sheeple since he allows this pandemic. Seems counter intuitive to me, but I suppose it's the famous gawd works in "mysterious ways", and it's part of "the plan". Slow attendance means we're broke again. Please increase your donations at this time.

  12. Any Preacher that actually READS HIS BIBLE will see that it tells of extreme growing violence as time goes on, ever increasing, never decreasing. So what do these Preachers think - they can change whats written in the Bible?

  13. Bible, oh yeah, the thingy written, and re-written, and re-written by folks who claimed the Earth was flat and the Sun revolved around it. Which bible thingy we talkin' 'bout here?

  14. We are talking about the Bible made by your creator. The Bible that states the rules. The Bible that says unspeakable horrors await you. The Bible says Death is your "wages" for your sin, and my sin. After death you will be judged and punished. God is perfectly good, he cannot allow 1 sin to go unpunished. And if you mock God thats a sin too. You can live 95 years on this earth, die, then spend the next 999 billion years in hell alone. When that time ends, its another 999 billion years, and so on. As you cant work off your sins in hell. HELL is : No beer, no music, no sex, no fun, no parties, no relatives, no internet, no sports, no food - all that will be in heaven (its already been created by God, so why wouldnt it be there). In Hell YOU GET NOTHING!

  15. At least they're mostly silent when they pray. It's nice to get a break from all that gum flapping on occasion.
