Kansas City Chiefs Confront Continued Branding Scrutiny Amid Cultural Shift

The d-bags in the faux headdress are still gonna have to go.

However . . .

This article is a rare exception to most of the sensationalist garbage that this blog also enjoys . . . Here's a talk with fans and Native leaders about perceptions and "organic change" that offers a way to educate rather than mandate.

An exceptionally worthwhile read . . .

Chief Concerns in Kansas City

Their Super Bowl victory thrust the Kansas City Chiefs into the limelight, but with that glory came a fresh wave of scrutiny for the appropriation of Native American culture. With the Washington Football Team's recent name change making national headlines, fans and critics alike are wondering whether the Chiefs could be next to rebrand.

  1. Move the team to Overland Park. Then there won't be any protests.

    Think about it.

  3. Change out the feathers for a giant penis and change their name to the red foreskins it's that simple. Then the Indians will be happy and they will be presented as they should be. Dick heads.

  4. TOP PHOTO -- NO RESERVATIONS

Chief Crazy Mask rose to his feet and began demanding reparations for all Native American people for the loss of their land, culture, and misappropriation of customs by white billionaire team owners who live in Texas!!!

  6. If not for naming things after American Indians they would be forgotten. After all they accomplished next to nothing of historic significance.

  8. I ran several of Boomer Hater/Weird/CHUD boy's comments through an online age detection app for written materials and it showed in the results that he is only 10 years old. You can tell his age by his lack of writing skills and his frequent temper tantrums. I'm guessing he dropped out of elementary school, and his mother doesn't know what to do with him. For his welfare, we’ve started a GoFundMe page titled “Save the 10-Year-Old Dumbass."

  12. As seen in the Crystal ball of Negrodamus - Chiefs will lose again for 40 years, Mchomie will have a severe injuiry and the Chiefs will have to change their name to RuPauls catwalk Queens. Time will tell, the crystal ball smoke will clear.

    1. Better be after we have all gotten told what we can and can’t wear to games. Ah, does the negroes who go have to wear dey pants up oba they ass cracks. That’s far more offensive than and Indian head-dress. Weird, pull your pants up. I know having those pants up makes it harder for you to whack yourself off. Just try.

  17. Thanks Kansas City (Nickname to be named later). We’ve got our Super Bowl Trophy. I’m good. Have your players kneel and wear emotive messages to their heart’s content. I’ll just listen on the radio and watch the highlights later, so none of it helps your ratings and TV dollars. Two can play at this game, but I’m not alone in this sentiment.

  18. 7:42: I couldn’t agree more. An average fan probably spends a couple hundred bucks out there. So, now, we get to pay to have a political narrative by low IQ imbeciles shoves at us. No thanks.
