Faithful Voters: Show-Me Catholic Consensus For Missouri Medicaid Expansion

The church enters into the political fray as the soul crushing experience of campaign 2020 moves forward. Read more:

Sister Diane Langford: A vote for Amendment 2 is a vote for life

In this time of pandemic, it is easy to become afraid - afraid of losing our livelihoods, afraid of being evicted, afraid of not having health insurance, afraid of COVID-19. Fear often turns us inward, and we are consumed by what could happen to us.

  1. Vote no. It’s time to stop the taxes.

  3. Of course the Catholics are for this the Catholics are heavy into the NWQ money power and legalistic doctrine, they have been for years and boy do they have their people snowed into thinking they are Christians.

    Vote NO on Amendment 2

  4. ^^^And yet your post, besides being an ad hominem attack on Catholics, makes absolutely no sense. Weird, but unfortunately expected.

  5. Ask yourself, who would pay for this expansion? Oh you're told the federal government will, not true actually. Yes the Feds pay for three years but then the day of reckoning comes and the Missouri taxpayers will be paying the bill. The same taxpayers that say NO to an $0.11 increase for gasoline tax to pay for roads every time it comes up for a vote, thanks Mr, Hancock. But this time you won't get a say about a far more substantial increase in forever taxes. And remember, free services never stop and the costs associated never go down. Now that you know something about #2 (an appropriate name) Go Vote NO!

  7. Enough states have had Medicaid expansion for enough time that reductions in mortality rates should be apparent if in fact expansion saves lives as its proponents claim. There has been no such reduction. The proponents were lying and still are.

  8. Catholics are all about money, booze, cigs and avoiding God. They are the equivelent of the Pharasees in Christ's day. Heathens.

  9. Sr. Diane Langford? Sr. Polly Ester Pantsuit more likely and a Vatican II hold over who lost her faith and her habit decades ago and wallows in the world of social justice and progressive politics to try to fill the empty hole in her sole. Real sisters wear habits, adopt a saint's name, and do not lobby for left wing political causes.

  10. @ 2:31 - You are wrong a little bit, 1) We love money, Catholics tend to be the most educated and wealthiest people on earth, Ever notice all of the Catholic schools and colleges and not just in the US. We make money as we earn it. Come join the church. 2) We love Booze. We have wine at every mass every day. We use to have Knights of Columbus halls in the church basements and there was always a bar. Come join us. 3) We gave up Cig's, they were killing us so we then went to sex and we call out God Almighty's name every time we have sex and we thank him for creating it. Come be one of us. You see, Catholics are inclusive, we do not hate others, we serve and uplift others that are less fortunate. Two of the largest charitable organizations in the world are Catholic Charities and The Knights of Columbus. This is a truer picture of Catholics than anyone else here can possibly give you. Now go back to spewing your hate.

  11. But Catholics are not Christians.

True Christians do not get to heaven by "good works". Not 1% of a Christians salvation is thru "good works". its 100% from the grace of Christ and what he did.

    HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Catholic women are the first to get abortions when pregnant!

  12. @646 - You are so wrong. The Catholic church is directly descended from Jesus Christ and the 12 apostles who were the first Pope's, we are the first Christians. Also while I am sure some Catholic women have gotten abortions but in percentages I would bet in the single digits so you are not stating facts that you can support would be my guess.
