TKC READER SEYZ: GRASSROOTS PROTEST IN SUPPORT OF KANSAS CITY POLICE DESERVES MORE ATTENTION!!!

Reader reaction that we think deserves a moment of consideration . . .

"Hey, TKC . . . Thank you for linking it but I think we need another post about the protest downtown yesterday. Great turnout, we totally outnumbered the counter-protest and PROVED that Kansas City supports police and can do so without vandalism or destruction. I feel like everyone but KBMC glossed over the coverage. Just wanted to see if you'd be willing to repost . . . Thanks."

Fair enough . . .

However, instead of just rehashing the issue . . . Here's a thoughtful and comprehensive write-up of the protest from a sympathetic community news outlet:

NORTHEAST NEWS: Back the Blue rally meets protesters at KCPD HQ

Money line . . .

"Waving American and thin blue line flags, colorful posters and donning t-shirts in support of the police, those rallying behind the department chanted their support for Smith, Operation Legend and “all lives matter.”

"They stood in front of the memorial to fallen officers that was graffitied during recent protests, but has since been cleaned."

Check the NE news for a worthwhile alternative take AND some great pix.

Developing . . .

  1. It's not a part of the democratic narrative. That's why most didn't report it.

  3. We'd all be a whole lot better off if all of these rallies, marches, protests, riots, parades, and whatever else people apparently so desperately looking for attention feel that have to do to try to get it, went back to work, or home, or even to the nearest bar, took some selfies, all agreed at how involved and important each other was, and left everybody else alone.
Actually, you might hope that they'd work to learn enough about issues to be able to make thoughtful, well-informed recommendations and proposals, but that's way too much work and abridge much too far.
Maybe at least a few more of them will at least vote, although low-information voters are already doing more than enough damage in KCMO.
What is passing for civic involvement is laughably poor and getting worse every day.
Which is how a little mid-west town ends up with the local government that it has.
    Sad.

  4. Go Blue !!!! I love how most of the protestors now are white people. The blacks stole some sneakers, got lazy, and went back home... Typical trait of the North American Domesticated Colored Person.

    1. The KCPD is a professional force. And they have shown professional restraint. I doubt they would support or want to be associated with your Antebellum thinking and racism.

    2. Why is showing restraint professional when people are breaking the law professional? Also, I’m sure when those cops get home and crack a beer with their spouse, and they are just as politically correct as you are. 🤔

    3. More to the point, why are you lying about the police riots and murders by police?

    4. Good questions. IMHO, professionalism is it's own type of quiet pride. It dates back to the craftmen guilds of the middle ages and their rules of conduct. Guilds evolved into the Unions of today. It means following the rules of professional conduct, having the inner strength, training, and judgement to gauge one's response to a situation rather than react to provocation.

There are laws and ethics that regulate police conduct towards suspects and citizens, even under trying and dangerous circumstances.

Situational rules like don't aim a tear gas cannister at someone's head, no rubber bullets at the eye sockets, don't shoot an unarmed fleeing suspect in the back. Nothing to do with PC.

I just think we are lucky to have non-confrontational policing since the Plaza, because otherwise we would be Portland. KCPD has had a thankless job, but they are a major part of why the city is still without no-go zones. Just my opinion.

  5. One person that need to pay attention to the support of the police is the sissy mayor. Quinton is a cunt and it is clear that BLM and the other black organizations have no respect for him. They intend to wreck this city and they demand the cooperation of the cunt mayor. If the cunt wants to prevent it, he needs to support the police 100%, now.

  8. Anyone notice how the TV channels regularly beat The KC Star with breaking news?
Even the news station’s website beats them for cool local stories and breaking news.
Hands down the video is much better... angles, editing etc.

    Best of all?

It’s free and they are not whining about going broke.
And when their reporters retire- they quit for good...No egos.

But have have to hand it to the star- the more irrelevant they become... the harder left they slant. They broke every rule in journalism by not being non-biased and of course they are not balanced unless you think balanced means having a teeter totter with thousand pounds of losers on one end and no one one the other.

    Is Karma great or what?

Peaceful gatherings of law-abiding citizens with jobs and kids and husbands and wives. These people protest during the day so they can return home to take care of their children at night and prepare for work the next day. Many of them had to take a vacation day (for those who don't have a job, that's a day off your employer gives you with pay) to protest. These people are the consumers that drive our economy. They have 401ks and pensions and are largely CHUDs that contribute to society in ways many south of the river don't.

  11. Back the blue does deserve more attention but you know who hasn't had one good word said about them? The 95% of the citizens who did the right thing by staying home, not destroying things, not spreading the Kung fu flu and pays their god damn taxes. How about that huh? Anybody got a kind fucking word for those law abiding tax paying sons of beetches!

Just once I would like to hear something decent said about the good people, it’s not asking too much is it?

  13. KCPD and Smith are wonderful. They take care of their officers. What other city department would give full benefits and paid to suspended members while they are waiting for a trail that could take years. The three officers that have been charged with felonies are receiving full pay and benefits so they don’t loose everything. Thank you KCPD.

I did not make the comment at 7:47.

He uses my name because he's a racist & I'm not.

Of course, a white supremacist thinks he's better than everyone else, by definition.

Probably because they do despicable things like identity theft.

Byron, who else lets you post? Still waiting. Still believe this is the only local blog in the country dumb enough to post your shit, since you don't live anywhere remotely near here.

  17. I back the blue but their Union is fucking awful and controls way too much in KCMO. The Police Union ensures bad cops are not held accountable and that's a stain on good cops.
