TKC MUST SEE!!! FINAL ROAST FROM RUCKUS TARGETS GREATER KANSAS CITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE!!!

Tonight we offer the last word of the day to a nationally recognized Kansas City tax fighter who calls out The Chamber on their hypocrisy and faux inclusivity in what may be the final roast ever delivered on "Ruckus" - The longtime local political talk show the disappeared from local airwaves without a mention by nearly any other local media other than TKC.

Take a look:

Hopefully, more for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!

  1. The chamber has done worse than sign on to woke politics. They're responsible for just about every tax increase Kansas City has ever seen.

There will always be businesses and special interests asking handouts. That's just the nature of politics. What is disappointing is that so many of our elected officials don't have the wherewithal to tell them NO and don't have the real grassroots support to back up the decision. The Chamber only gets their way all of the time because Mayors & council members let them.

  5. That's KC in a nutshell. This city doesn't care about the middle and lower classes. The only time they really need the lower and middle class is when they either need their vote for something or when they need their money for something (typically for something non-sensical that the lower and middle classes can't afford nor should be paying for).

As someone mentioned, the reason the Chamber and Port Authority get away with what they get away with is because we constantly put people in power that support that practice and do not look out for the financial well-being of the majority of their constituents. Their primary focus is making sure billion dollar corporations and developers are comfortable by diverting OUR money that should be benefiting us to the corporations and developers that don't need it. Then our "trusted" officials make up the financial gap that causes by raising our taxes on an annual bases. Quarter cent tax hike here, half cent tax hike there....it's an annual occurrence and we flock to the ballot boxes every cycle to put these irresponsible officials in place AND approve their dangerous financial practices.

Tell me, how does the city giving $135+ million dollars towards the Loews Hotel help the middle and lower class? I'll tell you it's great for Mike Burke, JE Dunn, Loews, etc because they get millions in cash and tax incentives from the city for a project that ONLY benefits them. But what do we get? The answer is nothing. Then we see our taxes go up every year for water, infrastructure, libraries, etc. Thing the city shouldn't have to raise taxes for if they weren't diverting money to the tune of 10s of millions of dollars per year to corporations and developers. A conservative estimate is that the city diverts $35M per year to various private projects. Just think of how much good that money could do for the working class folks of this city. How many libraries that could be repaired, updated and expanded. How many sidewalks and streets could be repaired and built. How many schools could get new technology, how many more police officers we could put on the street to make things safer in one of the most murderous cities in the nation....But instead, it goes to Loews, JE Dunn, H&R Block, Burns and Mac, etc.

It's really beyond insane and disgusting. And we need way more voices like Patrick Tuohy in this city to shed more light on this.

  7. Amazing. @7/10/20, 9:34 AM calling someone else a moron on an anonymous message board after you claimed to not have read the context of the post because it was too long? You probably can't even comprehend the fact that you just made yourself look like an idiot. Might want to think about that before you respond next time kiddo.

  9. IN A MORE PERFECT KCMO UNION

..Patrick Tuohey would be elected Mayor in a landslide, set about transforming the City into a lean efficient operation that focused on basic services, and then go on to represent Missouri in D.C. with honor and distinction.

(Whether you like him or not, Patrick Tuohey is one of the brightest minds in local discourse. Tuohey walking into a room with Emanuel Cleaver, Frank White, Jr., Quinton Lucas, and the KC Council...is like Einstein walking in on a class of grade-schoolers.)

  10. 10:35 AM Great thought but the powers that be will never let someone like Tuohey rise to power. The Liberal agenda runs too deep in this town and the powers that be will never let anyone cut them off from the money trough.
