Reality Check: Kansas City Hates Masks

In much the same way the last scene of the otherwise mediocre Return of the Jedi rings true for anybody who has visited an ailing loved one . . . Here's a reminder that the denizens of this town aren't as progressive and "in this together" as local media would like us all to believe . . . Even as more Conservatives argue for masks.

Many KC businesses, customers still ignoring city mask mandate

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - With Kansas City now three full days into a mask mandate in public places, if it seems to you like not everyone received the memo - you're not alone. FOX4 canvassed 10 large retail and entertainment attractions within the city boundaries on Wednesday and found a little less than half are [...]

  1. I'm not wearing one! The lies that have been circulated by WHO and CDC are ridiculous. Everyday it's something different about how you can or can't get the virus. Now they say it's mutated and only attacks young people, tomorrow it will be something different.
But when the mayor and police let the rioters run the city without masks and places like Seattle let them live in the streets with no sanitation or masks, there is no way I'm wearing one. So Quinton Lucas can shove this mask thing up his little black butt.

  4. Fiaci, the WHO and CDC have literally been wrong about everything and have flip flopped their way to incompetence.

The death rate under 40 is virtually zero. Ave age of death is over 80 with other serious health issues.

NOTICE - how the (((media))) no longer reports deaths only "infected" without break down of age, race and whether have any symptoms.

There is no second wave only more fake and bogus testing - test positive for common cold, test unreliable, same person multiple tests equal multiple infections, infections include "probable" infections without verification.

Notice how now its all about texas and Fla - two republican states that said fuck this bullshit we are opening but NY somehow (after murdering 10s thousands seniors in nursing homes while the hospital ships sent and makeshift hospitals remained empty) is the standard bearer.

This is all political warfare. They will do anything to win in NOv...yes destroy the economy, kill your grand parents, destroy your culture, drive you to suicide - and they think it's funny.

The only question is what will come next...to ensure mail in vote, no more trump rallies, and no real debates.

  6. Do it my way. I've always been a republican but when it's poll time if my party's candidate is clearly inferior to the other party I simply don't vote.

ex. when Obama ran for first term I knew he was the better man for the job. My party did not get a vote from me.

This last time around I knew I didn't want any part of Mrs. Clinton running things hence my vote for the Donald.

  7. I used my CHUD privilege and heavily invested in opportunity stocks. I've made more in the last four months than I did all of last year, and I had a very, very good year last year. There's no reason why these "victims of systemic racism" can't do just a little research and make great money. Even a few dollars would benefit them. Forego the spinners and malt liquor for a couple weeks and do some research. CHUD out.

    https://www.zerohedge.com/political/why-we-should-not-be-concerned-about-increasing-covid-19-cases-texas

    Good morning,

I am the Managing Partner and General Counsel of a Texas based company that owns and operates 13 free-standing emergency clinics in the State of Texas. I follow your reporting and wanted to share with you some information on Texas. I want people to hear this story as opposed to the mainstream reporting. However, I am sensitive about putting a target on myself or my company for conveying this information. I am not sure how you’ve handled this type of situation but I suspect you’ve had other people send you information who are concerned about becoming a target.

In June, we tested over 2,231 patients (data through last Thursday). Positive rate is now close to 20% (was 4-6% in May). Vast majority of the cases are mild to very mild symptoms. Average age of the people getting tested in mid-30s.

Very different patient (in terms of age) than we’ve seen before June. Most of these patients would not have met criteria that we previously had (and all the health facilities had) for Covid testing. Now with more testing kits we are able to test a broader group of patients.

Clinically, we’ve had very few hospital transfers because of Covid. Vast majority of the patients are better within 2-3 days of the visit and most would be described as having a cold (a mild one at that) or the symptoms related to allergies. We’ve often provided a steroid shot and some antibiotics. By the time we have follow-up calls, most of the patients are no longer experiencing any symptoms. They often say the shot really made a difference.

In terms of what is driving them to the ER — Roughly 1/2 have been told by their employers to get a test. They have a sneeze or a cough and their employer tells them to go get tested. The other 1/2 just want to know. They have mild symptoms (and some don’t have any symptoms but game the system and check a box that they have a symptom so they can get a test — they cannot get a test unless they present with symptoms. If they have no symptoms we send them away — which does happen.)

The average length of stay of Covid patients is 3-5 days. Much lower than the patients being seen in April and early May. Their symptoms are also milder. Most of the patients are not ending up in the ICU. The hospital ICUs are filled with really sick people with non-Covid issues. They [didn’t] come in earlier because they were scared and now they are super sick. From multiple sources at different hospitals — they have plenty of capacity and no shortage of acute care beds.

No real data on breakdown of patients who have Covid but are not in the hospital because of Covid. Recognition that because all patients are tested for Covid you have some percentage of patients listed as Covid patients who are non Covid symptomatic and that the hospitalization rate is somewhat driven by hospitals taking their normal patients with other medical issues.

Finally, heard several stories of how discharge planners are being pressured to put Covid as primary diagnosis — as that pays significantly better. Hospitals want to avoid the discussion but if they don’t they risk another shutdown. This may be an explanation for why there is a gap in hospital executives saying they have plenty of capacity and the increasing number of Covid hospitalizations. You open up your hospitals for normal medical care and you test everyone (sic) of those patients — the result is higher percentage of patients who have Covid — now.

Overall, based on what we are seeing at our facilities, the above information is really a positive story. You have more people testing positive with really minimal symptoms. This means that the fatality rate is less than commonly reported.

Experiencing common cold symptoms because that's what the "tests" will come back positive on - the common cold virus is a corona virus too.

  9. Cause the latest mask requirement is more of the fear mongering scam that progressives are using to keep their base and those too ignorant to think for themselves, completely terrified of life. Here's the facts: Nationwide Covid deaths continue downward curve, NO UPTICK at all. Flu deaths miraculously dropped to 6,479 in the entire Country from Jan 1 to now. BTW these are all CDC numbers. Our Nationwide total deaths as a percent of expected 105%, deaths from all causes 1,284,593. No data what percent of those above expected deaths were covid related or due to hospitals and Drs shut down for months. MO is sitting at 97% of expected deaths. The fear mongering cry of no hospital beds, no ventilators no longer works. Now they have to switch to xx,xxx new cases which is simply not true. Those are simply raw reports of positive tests without reduction for repetitive tests or differentiation btw active or previous infections. This whole thing is a complete crock of shit put forth by progressives to attempt to force full dependency on the gov.

  10. 9:32 You have to have money to make money. And yes you have to work and save to accumulate enough funds to invest in the market and them there is a learning curve and experienced traders still lose. Your advice sounds more like bragging than anything helpful.

  11. 9:57 It doesn't take a genius to see a demand during a pandemic. My biggest returns can from a private investment in an emergency food company and common Ruger, and Smith & Wesson stock. Frankly, I was in the Ruger and Smith & Wesson stocks since September of last year, but my small investment in an emergency food company is what really made money. If you turned on the TV in February or March, they said to stock up on food. It doesn't take much at that point to search for and contact emergency food suppliers. Their prices have doubled as demand for their products has increased 10,000 times. Bragging? OK. I am bragging. But, I know I am not the only one who has made money on the pandemic. I was let go from my job as an auto mechanic in February, so I am not rich, but I did have plenty of time to research, and some leniency around around an IRA withdrawal helped too. Yes, I save money for retirement, and under CARES I was allowed to withdraw money penalty free. I've already paid back my IRA funds and I'm still investing. I've been lucky, but I may not have this opportunity again. There. Does that help? Stock prices are still rising. It's not too late for you.

‘How Could the CDC Make That Mistake?’

The government’s disease-fighting agency is conflating viral and antibody tests, compromising a few crucial metrics that governors depend on to reopen their economies. Pennsylvania, Georgia, Texas, and other states are doing the same.
    Note:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is conflating the results of two different types of coronavirus tests, distorting several important metrics and providing the country with an inaccurate picture of the state of the pandemic. We’ve learned that the CDC is making, at best, a debilitating mistake: combining test results that diagnose current coronavirus infections with test results that measure whether someone has ever had the virus. The upshot is that the government’s disease-fighting agency is overstating the country’s ability to test people who are sick with COVID-19. The agency confirmed to The Atlantic on Wednesday that it is mixing the results of viral and antibody tests, even though the two tests reveal different information and are used for different reasons.

This is not merely a technical error. States have set quantitative guidelines for reopening their economies based on these flawed data points.

Several states—including Pennsylvania, the site of one of the country’s largest outbreaks, as well as Texas, Georgia, and Vermont—are blending the data in the same way. Virginia likewise mixed viral and antibody test results until last week, but it reversed course and the governor apologized for the practice after it was covered by the Richmond Times-Dispatch and The Atlantic. Maine similarly separated its data on Wednesday; Vermont authorities claimed they didn’t even know they were doing this.

The widespread use of the practice means that it remains difficult to know exactly how much the country’s ability to test people who are actively sick with COVID-19 has improved.

Mixing the two tests makes it much harder to understand the meaning of positive tests, and it clouds important information about the U.S. response to the pandemic, Jha said. “The viral testing is to understand how many people are getting infected, while antibody testing is like looking in the rearview mirror. The two tests are totally different signals,” he told us. By combining the two types of results, the CDC has made them both “uninterpretable,” he said.

  17. I agree with those who say to invest in stocks and make a mint.
Invest in stocks that are working for a cure or even a vaccine.
All the big ones are good.
Maybe try some smaller ones like Moderna or SRNE (Sorrento).
The SRNE is less than $10.
A lottery ticket is much riskier and just goes to schools that blow money like it’s water.
