City Council to discuss Tuesday whether to put local control of KCPD on Nov. 3 ballot
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- As law enforcement works to reduce violent crime, the City Council will discuss a piece of legislation that advocates say will improve the relationship between the police and the community. Councilmembers and the legal team will discuss whether to put local control of the Kansas City Police Department on the ballot.
And the voters after seeing what they have the past few months will vote this down deader than Lucas political career is now.
ReplyDeleteVote all they want it's still up to the state.
What ever the results are from the November election doesn't mean squat.
ReplyDeleteA state statute directs the current version of local control of the KCPD and the chances of having that changed so that the usual east side grifters and activists can "run" the police department will not take place.
And just a cursory glance at the performance standards and results of current responsibilities of the mayor and council should be more than enough to make anyone decide to vote NO.
Like the $100/month water bills, condition of the streets, sales tax increases, endless corporate giveaways, upside-down priorities like millions for bike lanes, $100 million+ and counting for 18th and Vine, and all the rest of the incompetent and arrogant decisions made by KCMO electeds?
And violence and homicides are so out of control in the city that the feds have come in to help?
Then by all means vote in favor, even though it's pointless.
The safety of your own neighborhood is at stake.
Way past time to get serious.
Notice the panel to recommend such was hand picked by Lucas to say what he wants said.
ReplyDeleteRecall Lucas!
Two points: the State took control of the KCPD due to corruption of council members during Pendergast era. The council is MORE corrupt today! If you think things are bad NOW in KC, wait until the "black leaders" and stupid white liberals on the council get control of the KCPD! DEFUND POLICE leads to MORE riots, murders et al leads to collapsing tax base leads to plunging property values!! King Lucas is just another dumb fuck libtard black "leader" who wants to give control of KC to the "nigga" punk thugs and their masters. All you ignorant, WOKE, liberal white-guilt fucks who voted for Lucas are about to find out just how big of a mistake you made!! Hope you got enough ammo...lock and load dudes!!
ReplyDeleteEither they vote for it or citizens are ready to petition it on the ballot.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching the news and seeing Chicago and Portland and Seattle violence and police being told by officials to stand down, do you really want local control of our police department? You cant even trust our Mayor to wear a mask; I would rather keep the police control with the State.
ReplyDelete“You can have my answer now Mayor if you want it,my answer is NO” and I would appreciate it if would give the police a raise.
ReplyDeleteThese morons in Kc can't manage the water department much less the police department.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who votes for this deserves what they get - a trashed city with even more crimes.
Wake up fools.
They could postpone that little discussion, otherwise it is just them grandstanding in a fevered climate, pretending they make rational decisions.
ReplyDeleteEllington, Shields, tow reasons never to support local control. Thugs and criminals.
ReplyDeleteI doubt they will put it on the ballot when a lot of folks would be voting! I remember my director talking about putting stuff on the ballot strategically so as to get the fewest number of voters voting in order to pass something! Nothing ever changes!
ReplyDeleteGovernor if you see this, please hell no.
