Kansas City Star Shares 'Woke' Lesson Plan

The culture war fight for young minds is already underway and (behind the paywall) the newspaper champions inclusive instruction which might not be as important to parents already struggling with the PROVISIONALLY ACCREDITED & FAILING KCPS . . . Read more:

To fight racism, schools must stop teaching 'other' cultures through a European lens

With the recent outbreak of widespread protests across all regions of the United States, the nation's people are becoming more aware of systemic racism and implicit bias within society. Despite the best intentions of various school districts, schools are not immune to these social ills - as highlighted by the response of many students of color to the recent social media posts by local school districts.

  1. If America is such an inherently racist country as libs would have you believe, then why are millions of people literally risking their lives trying to get here?

  2. Yes, what we need is the mud hut and cannibalism perspective.

  3. Keep everyone ignorant that's the plan. Teach one sided history. If you can't tolerate it then don't teach it that's the liberal way and it's called ignorance which is what most public school teachers are..Those who can, do... and those who can't, teach. How true that is.

  4. The KC MO School District can’t teach reading and algebra. Get on that and when you’re done, work on indoctrination.

    1. I heard second graders in KCPSD who don't even know their ABCs yet.

  5. ^^Then why don't you man up and teach a class you worthless CHUD? I mean your big idea is to come on here and cry about it like a bitch? You no-balls bastard.

  6. No one reads the Red Star, especially young people so it is not an effective tool to spread Marxism.

The solution is to eliminate the Federal Department of Education and let the individual states establish curriculum like they used to before the Department of Education was formed.

Thus, New York and California can focus on Marxist indoctrination in their schools and the rest of the United States can focus on Science, Technology, English and Math classes to be globally competitive.

  7. Just when you might think the Star couldn't possibly get any sillier or more irrelevant, they somehow come through with something like this.
And it's getting impossible to keep up with all the DEMANDS that the Star has for everyone else to do.
Please just try to report the news, starting with some facts.
Maybe an article about the demographics and geographical boundaries regarding the vast majority (90%+) of the homicides in KCMO.
Surely at least a few of the recent J-school cub reporters at the Star could try to find their way around that story.

  8. @ 8:42 - Let me tell you how to do what you say should be done. First get up at 5:30 in the morning, shit, shower, climb the stairs out of mommy's basement and eat breakfast. Then go outside and go to work at a school, remember school(?) you know the place you dropped out of 23 years ago during your sophomore year in high school? Then get a degree in education and teach the heads full of mush for eight hours. Go home and grade papers for two more hours while putting dinner together for your imaginary family of a spouse and two imaginary kids. Why imaginary? Because no one wants to be your spouse and have you touch them or have sex with you. That is why you watch porn all day long. Now go back to sleep.

  9. Half a semester of learning about the deeds of culture other than european culture shouldn't hurt any.

In a childs' early years just barely mumbling words from simple sentences, chicken scratch hand writing and understanding single digit math problems simply will not be good enough.

You must start early with kids - while in school, if children don't meet the requirements of being able to progress to the next grade school level, they must be held back.

The KC Star parent company's (McClatchy) bankruptcy plan includes more job cuts in addition to defaulting on their pension plan obligations!!!

  11. I might be inclined to believe with 9:22. here's my example/story.

While speaking to my daughter on the phone a few years back I asked how grandson was doing in school 2nd grade. Replies were he's very smart, knows a lot etc. Well, grandpa wants to make sure she isn't blowing smoke up daddy's hind end so I have daughter write down the words who, what, where, when, why and how individually on index cards.

Show them to grandson now one at a time and see if he knows them. Long story short, I hopefully humbled her some - he may of only read two words of the six presented to him. Didn't get a chance to talk about penmanship skills.

Hmm, he must take after his grandma.

  12. 9:50, I read elsewhere that McClatchy may become the property of a hedge fund out of bankruptcy. Maybe the hedge fund will start running its newspapers like a business instead of an uncompensated propaganda arm of the DNC.

  13. Sounds like McClatchy owes someone some money and they actually want it paid back.

  14. Our experience indicates that the schools have overcorrected the race narrative. My 16-yr-old daughter burst into tears and told me that “Dad is a racist” after he asked some thought-provoking questions regarding the goal of the BLM protests. His goal was to encourage critical thinking.

  16. 8:42. Fuck you asshole. I was buttfucked by the AFT in the KCPS when they went on strike in 1974. Later, I spent over two decades doing work with high school students and teaching at local universities. I had the distasteful task of telling college students that they were wasting their time and money because their teachers were terrible at math. How many classrooms have you been in?
