Frustration and confusion surround local school reopening policies

Governor Laura Kelly announced last week that Kansas schools would start, at the earliest, after Labor Day. Today, Mayor Quinton Lucas announced non-binding guidelines for Kansas City schools that made the same recommendation. A later start date will give teachers and staff time to prepare-and will give the community time to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Kcps hasn’t done anything right in at least forty years so why would you expect them to do something right now?

All they are is very expensive babysitters for the black community.

Well, the education level will remain the same as it has for decades in the KCMO schools. At least the kids will get in target practice!

Trump or no trump, the district has had 6 months to get a plan and they have failed miserably. Fact is they don’t have a plan.

They have had since mid March to get prepared. The virus isn't going away. These silly acts will all go away in November.
