KANSAS CITY MURDER COUNT HITS 101 AS VIOLENCE SPIKES ACROSS THE METRO!!!

The spate of Kansas City metro violence persists amid this turbulent Summer 2020 and in the shadow of civil unrest, campaign season and the worsening pandemic.

THE OFFICIAL KANSAS CITY HOMIICDE COUNT STANDS AT 101!!! THIS TOWN HIT THE CENTURY MARK FASTER THAN ANY YEAR IN LOCAL HISTORY!!!

Compare this to only 75 murders counted last year at this time. The spike represents an increase of 34.67% so far, with about half the year left to go.

The weekend was relatively peaceful in terms of homicide and the last to murders seem to be an elderly couple on Prospect found decomposing under "suspicious" circumstances.

As always, we remind our readers that deadly crime in KCMO has a tendency to spill over into other parts of the area and so the latest crime scene news compilation offers a peek at police action, reports of violence and murder investigations across the metro.

  4. 6:51 forgot all about the landmarks named after J.C. Nichols. The murder rate should drop off now.

  5. Of course, the violence is not sparking across the metro.
90% of metro homicides take place on the east side of KCMO, lots occur in KCK, and a few happen in Olathe.
Like James Baldwin said years ago, "Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced".
Should be the motto for KCMO city hall.

  6. The Mayor made a huge miscalculation. He has no chance in the northland. Less cops in the city will disproportionately affect residents north of the river. The police union will remember how they were stabbed in the back and the far south won’t go with Lucas because of crime.

He listened to advisors who have no idea how to run a city. The question is who is going to step up and actually run on an anti-crime platform.

  7. Two thumbs up for quoting Baldwin!

  8. Crimes up all across the midwest. Statistically, KCMO is neither under nor overpoliced. There is a higher administrative payroll in KC vs almost any other US city. We know the murders are BonB, but I havent seen a discussion if it is domestic, drugs, gang, robbery or what. Maybe I missed it, but it would be helpful to have info beyond the raw death count.

  9. Meanwhile, in the major leagues, Baltimore has 175 murders and Chicago has 392. Chicago has 102 murders in the last 30 days. Our hood rats are inept and third-rate.

  10. We need a prosecutor who isn’t a worthless piece of shit. Petersucker is useless and soft on crime. Petersucker is weaker than Countrytime Lemonade.

  11. Where are all the social workers? Wasn’t the ‘reimagined’ law and order supposed to provide trained social workers to prevent all these people from killing each other? Talk them through conflict resolution and so forth? Well, maybe with the $10 million the city shorted the police department the city can offer some community outreach on conflict resolution and such. Hmmm....I won’t hold my breath.
