JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Dozens of teachers gathered outside the Capitol in Jefferson City today to protest against going back into the classroom. The teachers carried signs reading "online til cases decline" and "I can't teach if I'm dead". Organizers of the protest say they want Governor Parson and leaders to require all schools in the state to return virtually.

WYANDOTTE COUNTY, KS (KCTV) - A new health order will prohibit Wyandotte County public school buildings from opening to in-person classes until after Labor Day. "Dr. Allen Greiner, Wyandotte County's Chief Medical Officer, issued a new Health Order prohibiting public school buildings within the County from opening to in-person classes until after Labor Day, September 7, 2020 to ensure educators have sufficient time to prepare for school re-opening," a release stated on Monday.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools Board of Education has voted to delay the start of school until Sept. 9 and have only virtual classes for at least the first nine weeks. KCKPS Superintendent Charles Foust said in a news release that district staff have been working "diligently" on a reopening plan.

    Tsunami-like spread of corona could hit schools and create a vicious second wave.

    Kelly should close schools until there's a vaccine.

  3. the prospect of that school might raise property values and attract neighborhood-oriented families to seek to buy houses.

    sometimes NIMBY objections have merit and make projects better, but a nice school is consistent with how JoCo developed.
