Kansas City Animal Control Endures Costly Takeover By Army Of Karens

Let's never forget that the KC Pet Project PROMISED taxpayers 10 million bucks in private donations but never delivered.

Now they're firing city hall workers at a facility that's mostly run by white ladies who quietly pulled off one of the biggest taxpayer swindles in Kansas City history in full public view and without a single question for anyone in power.

  1. I'll be impressed when there is a reduction of roaming dogs in my neighborhood. Also, when there are dogs other than pitbulls to adopt.

    1. We adopted a pit bull from a pit rescue. It’s been a great dog. Very cuddly. Seriously.

  3. Just another example of the KCMO city council being taken advantage of by the ole' bait-and-switch" of yet another group.
These folks promised a level of funding for their new facility and didn't even come close.
And who made up the difference?
Now the actual operation will become another black hole that will never have enough tax money to fill it.
And there'll be the same lack of oversight and accountability by the elected gang that all these other tax-supported "organizations" enjoy.
    Sad.

Don’t bother spending too much time on a witty retort. I don’t come back to re-read comments. I really don’t care that much.

I see the Kansas City is worried about dogs' lives than the citizens of Kansas City. It says a lot that they privatize an organization for humanity, but seem helpless when it comes to the pending, record-breaking homicide rate in Kansas City. Shameless. On a side note, I've always found that Tori Fugate of KC Pet Project kinda hot. I may just go look at pets to get a closer look.

  11. @ 6:06 a.m.

I have noted that it appears 90% of the dogs are pit bulls in the KC Animal shelters.

I believe what happens is that "Border Collie Rescue", "Sheltie Rescue" etc. adoption agencies go into the KC shelters each day (or have an inside contact) and adopt the nice dog breeds. Then "Border Collie Rescue" turns around and sells the dog for $250 making a 100% profit. It's a racket funded by taxpayers.

  14. @10:23 the reason 90% of the dogs in shelters are Pit Bulls is simple - the stupider level of Society gets those damn things "for protection", then the first time one of their many, many kids gets a hand torn up or half their face ripped off by one of those monsters, they get rid of the dog.

People who get a domesticated breed of mutt keep them.

  15. 1123 says truth.

if you ever go to an off-leash dog and and see one, leave.

this is based on firsthand observation, not wishful thinking.

  16. Pit bulls with issues and clueless white bitches. Yeah, this is gonna work out just fine. Stop being so goddamn negative, you people.

  17. yes the focus of animal control must be on removing loose dogs from the neighborhoods. this is a distraction focusing on adoption every animal no matter how damn aggressive .... people before pets, there isn't enough money to put them up at the Hyatt for years until a lesbian couple shows to adopt it
