This screed focuses on other commissioners but, in fact, Mayor Lucas hasn't yet committed himself to vote out KCPD Chief Smith as he continues to face activist & urban rebuke . . . Read more:
Kansas City Police Commissioners Remain Steadfast In Their Support Of Chief Smith & State Control
In the face of numerous calls for the resignation of police Chief Rick Smith, two members of the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners defend the department veteran as "a good leader."
And in the end the commissioners will win and Lucas will lose.
ReplyDeletenot knowing anything about it, but knowing some of the board, one would have to go with the board and, indeed, be glad they're there.
ReplyDeletein fact, this situation might be precisely why kansas city is not allowed local control.
I’m glad the city is under state control. I’m surprised more cities don’t. Actually I believe it is actually more control and provides a board of diverse opinions and reflects a professionalism that city control connot deliver.
ReplyDeleteWhat is being allowed to continue in KC right now with absolutely NO support for the police from this mayor and the majority of the city council is one reason for continued state control. Reason two are all the special interest groups who are in bed with various city council members as well as other city officials and are just waiting to turn KCPD into their own private security force. All you have to do is look east to St. Louis to see what happened after they went to city control. Reason three is this mayor cannot make a decision or statement without crapping backward a day later. He also apparently has a staff that he can't control. Might want to start there first before you take an entire police department on, mayor.
ReplyDeleteTissue?
ReplyDeleteNo, thanks. No need for you to come out of your safe space or interrupt your video game.
DeleteLament away thugs (activists)! Personally, my give a shit is broken.
ReplyDeleteSteve Kraske, a white male JOCO Kansas resident, former member of the liberal wacko KC Star editorial board, now pushing the KCUR liberal agenda, showed his HEAVY BIAS and SLANT in the exchange starting at the 4:50 mark.
ReplyDeleteKraske sticking up for and promoting the KC Star editorial board's call for the removal of Chief Smith, and citing his former membership on said board, was COMPLETELY REBUKED by Wagner and Garret.
During this interview, Kraske served as the liberal Democrat mouthpiece for Prosecutor JP Baker and SCLC's Vernon Howard.
If you wish to hear the truth on this matter, pay particular attention to the words of Commissioner Garret, who is an outstanding representative for the community.
All the criminals and BLM don't want Him.
ReplyDeleteThe chief stays and there won't be any different "local control" of the KCPD than there is now.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the next "demand" that the activists will lose?
And when will the local "media" start ignoring these clowns who are nothing more than publicity-seeking media whores with fake nonprofits looking for funding?
Surely there must be some actual local news stories worth digging into.
How about the airport fiasco?
Don't give the Marxists anything!
ReplyDeleteDon't turn effective control of the KCPD over to the race baiting reverends.
ReplyDeleteAny chance of local political control died when the protests started. While the small group of loud people have been able to manipulate a political city council and mayor the rest of the city paid attention. The majority of this city won’t allow local control because they see it as a political issue for the city. This city supports police and any vote would end badly for those pushing for the vote.
ReplyDeletesay NO to politicized police!
ReplyDeleteActivists you need to Regroup. If you want the majority of Americans to agree with you, you have to switch your narrative to, THE BLACK,ON BLACK SHOOTINGS. The Cops stop crime.AND If you don't want to run across Cops Stop committing Crimes. And Cops Take the Criminals to Jail. AND HAVE A PROSECUTOR,THAT WILL THROW,AWAY THE KEY
ReplyDeletewhite males support the racist Kansas City MO Chief of Police Rick Smith...
ReplyDeletePeople dat ain't sho who dey babydaddy iz b agin de popo.
ReplyDeleteBoth commissioners are exactly why we need local control. Listening to Garrett at the last BOPC meeting made me gag several times. Calling commanders by their first names. Reminding them he was once a Trooper (Glorified ticket writer). The bromance was just too much.
ReplyDeleteSupport your local Police Department.
ReplyDeleteGarrett pushed back and completely took Kraske by surprise. It's 2020, the days when the Star had influence are over. Garrett just told Kraske the emperor has no clothes on. Citizens get their news from a variety of sources, some good, some bad hardly anyone cares what the Star or Kraske think.
