KANSAS CITY ACTIVIST ULTIMATUM TO MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS: PICK A SIDE!!! WHAT SHOULD HE DO?!?

With no pride of authorship . . . Back in June our blog community noticed Mayor Q flip-flopping on law enforcement issues and we wrote the following:

"It's time for Mayor Quinton Lucas to pick a side."

Better than that . . . Out TKC blog community doubted that kneeling with protesters would win the Mayor favor for very long if he didn't ultimately meet their demands.

Accordingly . . .

This passage from a recent note put the young Mayor in the hot seat . . .

"How long will you lie to us, Mayor Quinton Lucas? You feigned ignorance when we first learned of Operation Legend, but the receipts show you INVITED them. ‬Our lives are at stake.

"You admitted you "should have been more circumspect" of the federal occupation. If so, why have you still not denounced it? You're prioritizing the defense of your lie over the safety of the community.

"You insist that you have no control over the situation—this is a manipulative LIE. We asked you to fund our lives, you welcomed more police into our Black neighborhoods. It’s now your responsibility to end this state violence. Lives in multiple cities hang in the balance. Will you continue to stand with Trump’s federal occupation, or will you stand with the people? With this letter the people have spoken—PICK A SIDE."

It goes on from there but, as we noted previously, this is one of the most militant and vehement ultimatums we've seen confronting City Hall in more than 20 years.

Given that this predicament might require more than a social media skill . . .

KNEELING TO PROTESTERS IS NO LONGER GOOD ENOUGH!!! GIVEN THE LATEST ACTIVIST DEMANDS: HOW SHOULD MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS RESPOND?!?!

You decide . . .

  2. It'll never be enough. Handing over the key to the city wouldn't just inspire more yelling. This isn't about policy, it's about power. The Mayor didn't stand up to the mob. He did worse than blink. He got own his knees for them.

    Now they own him.

  7. Lucas needs to quit and go back to KU and teach. No wait that's not a good idea either. We don't need anymore lawyers thinking like him. Waste Management is hiring I hear Quinton.

  8. If he knows what is good for him, and that’s all that matters to him, he will side with enforcement of our laws. I bet he wishes he was back at the lake with those fat Joco women.

    ReplyDelete
  9. He will fold and try to reclaim favor with the communists. But then they will demand more and he'll have no choice but to eliminate private property.

Sounds far fetched, but city hall will be given back to the people. He'll be evicted.

  10. Lucas picked a side when he was elected to public office.
The job has actual responsibilities and outcomes for residents of the entire city.
It isn't like teaching college kids about theories and ideas.
Lucas has been an embarrassment from almost his first day in office and his handling of the riots and medical emergency have demonstrated not only his cluelessness and incompetence, but his cowardice in the face of uninformed and extreme "demands", and his lack of understanding or concern for the consequences of his actions.
Then add in his narcissism and the relentless pursuit of celebrity, and you have the formula for, not only current nonsense, but for very long-term negative impact on both KCMO and the entire metro.
It continues to amaze that in a city with a population of almost half a million people, that the two finalists in a mayoral race were this clown and Jolie Justus.
The majority of residents and voters in KCMO really have to get serious.

And then divest, defund and abolish. The system needs real change and not just talk.

Not fair. His skin color automatically makes him a great mayor. He should stay the course, because kneeling with BLM as a representative of the city, essentially conceding that all Kansas City residents support his support of BLM, was the right thing to do. Surely the knee will stop the violence and rioting, as it said, "I am your mayor and here I am prostrating myself in front of you. Now stop this violence, go home, and I will take care of everything, including the homicides." You see how effective that kneeling has been. It;s been as effective as effective as Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey's concessions, as effective as the Portalnd mayor's march in support of the rioting, and as effective as Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan's "Summer of Love" support. By being black, his effectiveness and leadership among the black community should be rock solid. Black leaders should be supporting him, and the black-on-black violence in the city should cease immediately, just as it stopped completely under Sly James. Wait...That didn't happen. Weird.

  17. It's obvious that Mayor Lucas is torn between common sense (i.e. he knows he needs additional resources to investigate unsolved crimes and help fight crime in his city) and politics (i.e. he can't contradict the media/Democrat narrative that federal "storm troopers" have overrun the city).

THERE ARE NO FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ROAMING THE STREETS OF KANSAS CITY ARRESTING PEOPLE. THEY DON'T HAVE THE LEGAL AUTHORITY TO DO ANYTHING UNLESS THERE IS A FEDERAL CRIME.

  26. He is in a no win situation. But he could stand tall, tell the right wing nuts that there does need to be police reforms. He could tell the KCPD he expects better from them. Then tell the left wing nuts that if you riot or loot your ass will be thrown in jail and he will support the cops who do it.

But in our society you can't be a voice of reason and honesty, you have to be on one team or the other even though both teams are incompetent crooks.

  27. He is facing a real quandary. His ambitions are national and he cannot back away from supporting the mob and break with the DNC if he wants to move up but his city is falling apart around him. In the end, it is his ambition and vanity that will guide him as they always have. He will walk on both sides as much as he can but he will never allow the police to do their jobs against the rioters, at least not until after the national election.

  40. While I said the mayor could stand tall and tell the truth I expect him to cater to the loony left since that is the majority in KCMO. So many reasonable citizens have moved away that those remaining have no voice. So Lucas will watch the city decline but will be rewarded with a second term, just like Sly James.

And if you insisted on only the DUES PAYING members, they could ride to the protests in a cab.
These fake organizations are nothing but fronts for a handful of "activists" and self-appointed "leaders" desperate for attention and opportunities to try to intimidate others to do whatever they "demand".
And the cowards at KCMO city hall are the easiest of pickings.
It would all be comical if the stakes for other residents in KCMO weren't so high.
And especially for folks who live in east side high stress neighborhoods who need the police more than anyone else.
Maybe more folks like LeGend's family should be the ones setting the agenda and making the speeches.

  58. Sad part is Lucas knows he needs the resources. FBI, DOJ, and other resources helping KCMO police investigate crimes has the POTENTIAL to be a big benefit for the city. It's too bad this community has blown this effort up on politics alone.

Trump should give actual concrete examples of support that's being offered and these groups should give reasons why KCMO doesn't need them. My understanding is DOJ is offering back-office resources, FBI is offering resources such as their criminal records and crime lab time. These are not "storm troopers" running around KCMO arresting people and banging down doors.

  62. Over the weekend TV news reported 293 murder cases unsolved, going back several years. Anyone would have to guess that these cases will mostly remain unsolved without outside help, and let those guilty of these crimes continue the same? Thus, Operation Legend came about.

Are these advocacy groups hoping that most or all of those cases should remain unsolved? (They want to end Operation Legend, so it seems, yes.)

Exactly who in the inner city benefits if a murder case remains outstanding? The heartbroken citizens and families - or the nonprofit groups that receive government grants and donations, who make a living off of heartbreak and the social problems.

Are they not listening to the families of these murder victims? No.

Do they think the vast majority of upstanding citizens are too stupid to see what is going on?

    Propagating crime for profit.
