Senate race ads near $14M, two-thirds from PACs

Kansas' open Senate race has generated close to $14 million worth of ads, with two-thirds of the spending coming from political action committees as establishment Republicans fight to keep hard-right conservative Kris Kobach from winning the GOP nomination. The Senate Leadership Fund, aligned with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, launched television and radio spots this week praising western Kansas Rep.

  1. I like Kobach a lot. But he's not electable. He just does not understand the optics he's put out there. But left the gop and am an independent voter now. I would vote for him in the general election of course but a Dem controlled Senate and House would spell disaster and likely civil war. No kidding. IF the Dem's win it all Civil war is inevitable. Folks won't come with clubs and stones.

  2. Where is the Koch money? Since the entire State belongs politically to the Koch Family, they ae the deciding factor in any Kansas political question.

  3. LOL! The state of Kansas belongs politically to Planned Parenthood, they are the deciding factor in any Kansas political question.

  4. I watch the candidates ads on TV. The PAC's I pay absolutely no attention to so I don't care who spends how much money to change the dialog. I just for once want to know what they think, what they have done, what their plans are, and how many terms they want to be in DC. (Hint: no more than 3 terms as representative or 2 as senator).

  5. 5:21 Optics? What optics has he put on himself? The only optics here are coming from the out of state Media offensive against him and the Rockefeller Republican GOP establishment who hate anyone who's aligned with Trump.

And yet Republicans will accept the election results, just as Democrats did four years ago. Weird.

  7. The Dems never accepted the 2016 election. The entire Democratic Party tried to get Trump out of office during his entire term with lies and underhanded BS. It's only fair that he gets another four years to keep taxes low, secure our borders, keep the military and police force strong, and drive unemployment again to record lows. The Dems reached a new low by their harassment of a duly-elected president and their constant lying, false accusations and illegal actions. The first thing Biden and the Dems will do is raise taxes on all income levels so the Dems can fulfill their socialist wet dreams. If you want your take-home pay cut in half, vote for Batty Basement Biden.

  8. RINOs, Mitch and the Establishment, and the Swamp really really want Marshall.

Big money interests have bought Marshall and now they want to buy a senate seat for him.

Kobach was MAGA before Trump had a name for it. He's right on immigration, the Wall, and securing the vote. Kobach was plenty electable before 2018. Notice it was sore lose establishment Jeff Colyer that torpedoed Kris after the primary in the governors race which started the whole "unelectable" crap.

Don't let them railroad Kobach again!

I'm sorry, but you are wrong. DEAD wrong! Not that I blame you. You've bought into the narrative. I'm more right wing than Kobach would dream of being. But I know Kris and I can tell you that he's all about Kris. I'm not going to get into personal attacks...it's not worth it. But I can tell you that for a 100% fact, the Colyer people came to him and offered him whatever help he wanted. His reply? "No thanks. I've got this. I've got my own people I trust." He then proceeded to run a TERRIBLE campaign that demoralized his top aides. He literally had to BEG (through surrogates) Trump to endorse him. Trump can't stand Kris and only agreed to endorse him at the LAST MINUTE fearing that his OBVIOUS loss would be blamed on not endorsing him.

I'm voting for Marshall. Is he my ideal? Hell no! Is he a bit of a RINO? Hell yes! But unless you want to see Bollier in the US Senate you will consider voting for him as well. Please, let's all not repeat the past mistake that gave us the Commie Granny governor!

Marshall can beat Bollier but unfortunately it will be close. Bollier will beat Kobach by 10-15+ points guaranteed.

Bottom line...Kris Kobach is a weasel. Today he talks a great conservative talk...after he loses he'll pack up and go to work for ANY lobbyist that pays the best. Trust me on this.

  10. Kris was good enough to win as SOS twice. He got more votes in 2014 than anyone else statewide.

I will NOT vote for a RINO like Marshall. The problem with red states is that every single Republican, including crappy ones, always get reelected. They never get a primary challenge. If Marshall is elected once, he becomes a lifer and will be there for decades (just like Pat Roberts, who has not had a good conservative career). I'm not going to get stuck with a big business chamber of commerce, pro-immigrant, big spending, get along fake Republican for the next 30 years.

With Trump at the top of ticket this cycle (and Trump will absolutely WIN Kansas), Kris would win too.

Oh, the Democrats didn't like it, but they didn't start a civil war, like 5:21 predicts. Republicans didn't like Clinton winning in 1992 and did everything they could to get him out of office. They also didn't like Obama winning in 2008 & 2018 and did everything they could to stymie everything he did. It seems to come with the territory in our toxic political environment.
