Biking Booms in Kansas City Despite Lagging Infrastructure

Exhausted, Kelly Aaron laid on a Columbus Park bench. She recorded an "SOS" selfie video to send to a friend, sweat dripping off her face. "I'm good... I'm laying on a park bench in Columbus Park, breathing in the breeze," Aaron said in the short video, catching her breath.

  1. Bike/"Walk" still won't release their membership numbers, apparently still too miniscule to matter.
Doubt they've managed to hit three digits.

  2. Fuck cyclists! You build them bike lanes and bike paths and the assholes still insist in riding in the middle of traffic. They deserve nothing!

  3. I’m with 12:55 on this, sounds like one giant lie to me. Why do they think people will believe their b.s.?

Maybe because people in killa shitty are stupid as fcuk?

  4. This town is for Timmy Toughnutz f150 drivers with one hand at the 12. o'clock and hat on backwards!

  5. casual, non-psycho bike riding is great.

the pathological riders are a pain.

    recumbent bikes should be outlawed.

  6. the advent of electric bikes is bringing out a lot of seniors.

  7. Ride your bikes on the sidewalks. You are a pedestrian not a motor vehicle. If you want to share the roa with motor vehicles then license, tax, pay personal property tax and renew every year. If you change bikes you must register with the city and state and you should also carry insurance specifically for bikes. You must obey all traffic signs and courtesy’s.

  15. Where's your sense of community, people? Our bicycle riding friends deserve their Pursuit of Happiness as much as the rest of us. So we should set aside a portion of Kansas City for them to ride in whenever it's nice and cool in the late evening and overnight.

A nice bicycle route could be devised between say, 27th and Montgall and 39th and Prospect? Of course participants should wear their brightest spandex cycle suits so they will be clearly visible in the street lights that haven't been shot out yet.

  16. Now it’s “fat fucks”. Great conversation. Let’s just license and tax all bicycles that want to ride in the street.

  17. Don't worry TKC fatties, they make stuffed sausage sized riding gear just for you fatties so you're covered. No need to be jealous.

  18. Bike/Walk KC is a self serving cult, with Eric Bunch as their insider. But Bunch isn't very smart, doesn't get leadership and Bike/Walk KC screws up everything they do. Their "data" has always been very suspect.

  19. Biking Booms in Kansas City Despite Lagging Infrastructure = White people drive their cars from the suburbs to ride their bikes among urban & back to the suburbs. Urbana’s should continue to pay for their entertainment by building more bike lanes.

  20. yes to more bike paths.

  22. Bike folks play the victim and are self-righteous. All ten of them. Tax the bike folks and dump spandex boy Bunch.
