A glimpse at the plan(s) put forward today . . .
"Executive Frank White wants a special committee to conduct public hearings about removing the two statues.
"But Theresa Cass Galvin, the chair of the county legislature, said she plans to introduce an ordinance that would put removal of the Jackson statues to a vote of the people in Jackson County. She said the statues don’t belong to the executive or the legislators."

Jackson County legislators consider two plans for Andrew Jackson statues’ future
Jackson County Executive Frank White formally recommended to county legislators Monday that two statues of Andrew Jackson at the county’s courthouses be removed. But there doesn’t seem to be consensus on the process to make that happen.
The democrat party should be banned. Keep Andrew Jackson. Resign Frank.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't agree with what the Civil War was about and people owning slaves, this is still important history that needs to be preserved for future generations to understand our past.
ReplyDeleteI think you collect all the confederate statues from all over the Country and make an outdoor space to display them as a museum to the Civil War similar to Liberty Memorial or the WW II Museum, or better yet, house them at the Trump Presidential Library.
^^^ you’re an idiot, keep your stupidity to yourself
ReplyDeleteThe civil war was about much more than slavery. The south was being taken advantge of economically by the north.
ReplyDeleteYou know it’s funny that practically all the slave owners were despicable dimwits. I’m sure most people didn’t know that juicy tid bit.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it’s a better thing to get rid of them because they’re all dimwit statues, the worst possible human beings on planet earth.
^^ Coming from a person that hasn't achieved anything. Keep posting. Weird
ReplyDeleteKeep Andrew Jackson’s statue because he is a hero. Get rid of Quinton Lucas because he is a snivelling cunt.
ReplyDeleteAndrew Jackson did not fight in the Civil War, and was not a Confederate. He died almost 20 years before it.
ReplyDeleteSlavery goes back thousands of years, all races have subjected. It has nothing to do with the current black on black crime, not doing as an officer ask or the continuing need to hold blacks hands to help them through life. We all at the present time have torches to bare, grow up, look forward and just do it.
ReplyDeleteNo one has a right to not be offended. It is part of maturity, something those on the left are sorely lacking.
ReplyDeleteTheresa Galvin is very correct.
ReplyDeleteAnthony Johnson was a black Angolan known for achieving wealth in the early 17th-century Colony of Virginia. He was one of the first African American property owners and had his right to legally own a slave and did as recognized by the Virginia courts. One of the first black Africans to legally own slaves in America.
ReplyDeleteSo kiss my ass BLM bitches.
Take all the statues and melt them down. Turn off all the fountains and fill them in with big rocks. Re-name all the streets of white men and replace them with numbers and letters. Street A1, street B2, and so on. Shut down all the art galleries, concert venues, museums, and historic districts. Think of all the money our fair city will save with these changes.
ReplyDeleteWhile I do not agree that the Jackson statue should come down, I don't believe we will win this argument.
ReplyDeleteLet the Leftists have their day.
However, removing the statute does not go far enough. Let's cleanse the area of Jackson.
Here's my plan.
Immediately rename the county.
City government should not accept $20 bills anymore. After all, someone may get feelings hurt handling a $20 bill.
Rename every building and whatever else is named Jackson.
Every historical item that mentions the name of Andrew Jackson (statewide) should be burned in front of City Hall with music and dancing.
Give them what they want and be done with it.
Take down the statue.
ReplyDeleteIt's presence is an insult to minority communities.
Their opinions, & lives, count too, or you've learned nothing from today's lesson.
BLieRon, you need to learn this: your opinion has no bearing here and no one wants it. So you’ve learned nothing from the many KC posters who tell you to shut up and go away. Wise up and take off.
DeleteI saw Byron at a Raytown Coffee shop last week. He does not live in West Va. I can tell you that.
ReplyDeleteJust like the Bolsheviks when they removed all Russian statues of Peter the Great, renamed Saint Petersburg to Leningrad, burned churches, destroyed icons of Mary and Jesus.
ReplyDeleteThe Democrat Part has become the Bolsheviks.
All history of the United States must be destroyed per the Democrats.
Next all holidays will be re-named. Christmas will not be allowed.
Hey 9:42, shut the fuck up. Historians, who actually studied history outside of the HS level, unlike yourself, are all in agreement. The civil war was about states rights to own other human beings as property, or, ya know, slaves.
ReplyDeleteAfrican tribes captured their rival tribes and bartered them to the slave traders who were Dutch among others. My ancestor came here in 1635 as an indentured slave. He was white. The English did that. There were not many black slaves in the colonies then. Barbados had them first. Who do we blame for that?
ReplyDelete^^^What aboutism at its finest. Thank you.
ReplyDeletetake him off the $20 bill too
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when you elect a baseball player to an important position in government. Same with the horrible jail situation.
ReplyDeleteRewriting history is no way to change the future. Keep ALL statues, including Jackson’s.
