Kansas St. players want action taken over tweet

A group of Kansas State student-athletes of color says its members will not participate in "all athletic related events" unless the university takes action in the wake of a tweet by a student mocking the death of George Floyd.

  4. Well we want action taken against all of the rioters that stole things and destroyed property that wasn't theirs in the name of George Floyd. So it seems BLM and ANTIFA are mocking George Floyd too. What's the problem?

BTW don't play we don't care and are better off without you.

  5. Apparently, no one is allowed to even say the facts about George Floyd.
According to the coroner, he had meth in his system when he died.
According to the Minneapolis police chief, he was a violent criminal who had been in prison for armed robbery. What happened to him was wrong but why is it racist to tell the truth about him?

  7. Good never liked K State anyway

  8. How far does one have to dig into the activities of these scholar- athletes to find something that would offend our social justice warriors? Or, would some be absolved of their guilt based on race? On the other hand, after this lock down, the greed and politics of professional and now college sports, fuck them all. Except, maybe the resumption of the NHL.

  9. Kiss K-State football goodbye.

Once a program becomes radicalized it falls apart.

Look at Mizzou's football team. Two SEC East titles then BLM infected the team. Performance and success fell off the cliff.

  10. The players need to shut the fuck up and win some games. Their job is to play football not to be illiterate political activists. George Floyd was just a criminal, not a saint. If the player don’t shut up, send them back to the hood.

  11. This BLM shit isn’t happening at K-State. It might be ok in Lawrence where the population is over 90% gay liberals, but not in Manhattan.

  12. Lawrence might be close to 90% gay liberals, but not over 90%. They do have a football team that loves to lose games. The worse KU gets beat, the better they like it.

  13. Just shut down all sports at the college and pro level and let these people learn a skill that earns them a living like the average person. They already all think they're "gods" because of their skills needed only in a highly contrived environment.

  14. The Floyd joke is covered by the First Amendment in the US Constitution and its counterpart in Kansas. KSU is a government entity, so the right to free speech applies. If, as is likely inevitable, the KSU administration folds like a K-Mart pup tent and expels the student who told the joke, he will have a great opportunity to sue KSU for violating his civil rights. KSU would be wise to pay him now to go away, but it's doubtful that they are that smart.

    "... over 90% gay liberals..."

Why do you say stupid shit that even you know can't be true?

Why are you obsessed with other people's sexual preferences?

  17. the SJWS should address the lack of Affirmative Action in sports.

Hoops team 90% black, football 70% -- why no quotas for us slow, can't jump White boys?

    RAAAAACISM!

  18. george floyd had fentanyl and meth in his system, there was no need to embalm him.

  19. George Floyd was exhibiting signs of Excited Delirium. There's a protocol for handling these people, which is what they did, prone, knee on back and neck -- all in Minneapolis policy. G-Floyd was complaining he couldn't breathe long before he went to the ground ---- that body cam footage is conveniently missing. G-Floyd was seen moving his neck and talking, the pressure that Chauvin put on him DID NOT kill him. It was a combination of the drugs, the stress, and existing heart ailments that did it. It's a real thing, this excited delirium syndrome, and not unusual for the suspect to die.

  20. Floyd George was a saint, and is now a martyr. He was, and always will be righteous. Never forget or slander Geoff Lloyd.

  21. Freedom of Speech. Maybe all these fine students should take a polygraph and be asked what fine racist things and criminal thoughts they have performed.

  22. Byron is offended over a factual statement concerning Queers. Wonder why ? Perhaps you should concern yourself with asking why Lawrence celebrates a Trust baby Queer that murdered his wife ? you know, kill your wife responded by honoring him by naming streets and parks after Red pants. Or why Lawrence protects the Team mates that raped Rowing girls ? Obviously you don't think much of Women and their rights. Lawrence has maintained a lot of two faced heroes with deviant sexual problems.

  23. "...that will expel any student that openly displays racism on all platforms..."

OR, you can grow up and realize that not everyone in the world has to agree with you, that difference of opinion makes society as a whole stronger, and that the best medicine for dumb opinions is reasoned conterpoints, expressed coherently.

Then again, you're a dumb jock "paid" to hit other dumb jocks. Intelligent society doesn't care what you think.

  25. Boycott it all-NFL, NBA, college- not that it will hit em in the pocketbook like it did 15 yrs ago. The whole system is rigged now, so I suspect that they will hand out free tickets, to still seem relevant and act as though 51% of th country still cares. Its a real shame that this corruption of thought had to destroy what looked like the greatest thrill ride NFL fans could ever see-Pat Mahomes. In the Midwest, we had already despised Mizzou, so we thought we could at least hitch our wagon to Mahomes. Columbia in 2015 told us that optimism for the future was foolish, but the kid seemed above the crapernick. Alas, the writing was on the wall ! (see what I did there- you know, the hoax about a swastika smeared in feces). Only thing a boycott can do in this age where all sport will be supported by billion dollar corps and Guv handouts, is distract the morons who have contributed to this mess while proper decent folks work on a way out of it. Spend all your energies watchin thugs on thugs, sinmeisters! ( oh wow, isn't the word "thug" now considered racist ? Even though half of black folk embrace it as a badge of honor. Better tell the rappers.)
