TKC MUST READ!!! SUPER DAVE STANDS UP AGAINST KCPD 'LOCAL CONTROL' & 'DEFUND THE POLICE' MOVEMENT!!!

Kansas City residents confront another major push to champion local control in 2020 as more radical activists tout defunding police altogether.

Super Dave is a favorite from the TKC comments and here's his hot take on both issues . . .

Super Dave Fights Against Kansas City Police Local Control

Back in April of 1874 the Board of police commissioners formed what was known as the Kansas City Police Department. The department was controlled by the commission until Tom Pendergrass convinced the city Council to take over control of the Police Department through a home-rule ordinance in 1932. It took until 1939 for the corruption to become so bad that the Missouri Atty. Gen. put a stop to it. The Missouri governor at that time re-created the Board of Police Commissioners and is that system that is in use today. Mayor Lucas working to take over the police department again with city rule will result in nothing but a repeat in history. The department will become corrupt and be used as a political tool against the residents of the city by the powers that be. Mayor Lucas has a political agenda here and that isn’t for the good of everyone.

A lot of crying for defunding of the police is taking place today by people that have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about. These are people that think first responders to incidents should be mental health care providers, social workers, victim advocates and every other willy-nilly community chest of people whose actions will be completely detrimental in addressing the situation.

Who will respond to the bank robberies? Who will respond to hostage situations? Who is going to respond to a sniper in the tower? Do you think a mental health worker carrying a full load of common sense is going to attempt to approach an active shooting sniper who has already killed many? Please explain to me how a mental health worker is going to respond to a tragic accident with numerous deceased victims and make it all seem acceptable? What about the shooting victim lying dead in the middle of the street, how is a social worker and victim advocates going to make that a better outcome? The social worker going to go arrest the guilty party of the killing, I seriously doubt that.

You can’t take law enforcement off the street. Those that want to take a lot of active law enforcement off the street clearly have ulterior motives . . . .

What they failed to understand is that less law enforcement is not going to result in less crime of any kind. Instead it will increase crime as there is no deterrent for sure to stop someone from doing evil just for grins and giggles or because you have a better looking wife than they do.

There’s no way you can convince me that a social worker or workers will ever put a stop to the rampant murdering that's been taking place the past few years in Kansas City or any other city. Look at Chicago, some of the toughest gun laws around it’s not a deterrent whatsoever to stop killing in that city. Now how is a social worker going to change that? They can’t and they won’t. We have more social workers running around now than ever in life and things just keep getting worse and worse.

Law enforcement is not all about the people on the street, the street cop trying to enforce the laws. Law enforcement covers many entities from street crime to white-collar crime to local government codes enforcement. All laws are not handled solely by a police officer on the street. Many other factions enter into the whole picture of law enforcement. But it’s always the street cop too often that gets the blame when it all goes bad.

The effective way to have good law enforcement is to have a total complete package of law enforcement in effect. That includes prosecutors who do their jobs and who see that the sentences that the current laws on the books say must be handed out. Judges sitting on the bench are there to oversee that justice is served not to twist justice to fit their political needs or friends. That is why politics needs to be totally removed from law enforcement. Many state that incarceration does no good. To you folks I say, till you come up with a better plan that’s what it has to be. Sitting around campfires singing folk songs while eating s’mores as a social worker tells criminals what they did is bad makes about as much sense as making a child stand in the corner for five minutes for hitting his sister. Punishment has to be dealt to those that can’t follow the laws that we have in place. Some people just do not want to be a part of society and there’s plenty of proof for that out there. So the simple solution is to just remove them from mingling with society.

A country or city without proper law enforcement will quickly become a city we have seen on the news the past few days. What we see is they’re on fire with rampant looting while idiotic Mayors are handing out pardons.

Society as a whole needs to follow the law; it's as simple as that. And every one of these cases of police brutality of late have all started out with somebody breaking the law, makes no difference what law they were breaking minor laws or major laws that was what prompted the incidents we have seen. The best way to see law enforcement downplayed would be for people to not break the law, simple as that, see how easy that could be?.

If you don’t like a law then work at getting it changed don’t take it out on a law enforcement officer who is just doing their job.

For the record I don’t think anyone is above the law and all no matter whom bad cops and politicians included should be treated the same.

Want better law enforcement, then you better get ready to pay for such. First off, increase the salaries they are currently paid to where a starting police officer makes no less than 80K their first year. Then you start increasing the screening process for hiring such. Make law enforcement salaries the same all across the United States everywhere. Make the screening process the same everywhere. Those hired to be law enforcement officers, city code enforcement officers any person who is in place to enforce the law of this country should be able to pass a background check that includes about everything related to that person then a complete psychological workup and when I say complete I mean damn complete. This might not stop a few from getting through the process that shouldn’t be wearing a badge but it would tremendously help in putting better law enforcement personnel in all areas on the streets.

But let’s be careful out there and look out for one another and respect one another, as it’s respect that is rapidly failing and a key lack of many escalated issues we see on the news today.

  3. Thank you Dave. Finally a voice of reason and facts and not just someone spouting off “I want!” Without facts to back up their words. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  4. But Stupid Dave..you don't live here in KC! Who cares what you think? You're not part of the process in anyway. Why don't you keep your nose out of our business? Go to your own city and screw that up! CHUD.

  5. Sweet op ed piece Dave, who cares.

It's obvious Dave doesn't understand what 'defunding the police' actually means. And predictably, the phrase is turned into the boogeyman and presented as a gateway to anarchy. And let's be honest, Defund is a horrible marketing tag line. It evokes images of cities, counties, etc. completely wiping out police budgets. It's not that. A better tag line would probably be Reform the police. And why shouldn't more $ be devoted to mental health services? Are police qualified to deal with those situations? No. Why should they be forced to? There's no perfect solution out there, but there are better.

I know change is hard, especially for the old fuckers who like to rant on this blog, but sometimes it's necessary.

  7. We know who they want to be charge, the same people controlling the 18th Vine District who will siphon off money for themselves, friends and their masters. There will be a whole lotta more escalades on the streets once local control kicks in.

  8. 7:53 so old and so lame, try and shit on Dave all you want but in the end I bet he pays more taxes every year in Jackson County than you do. So how about you stop being stupid with the stupid comments.

  12. My son was mentally ill and we had to call police several times when he was out of control, threatening himself and family. Each time, a group of special police came to our rescue. (Literally!) Son had to be "talked down" then physically restrained. Typically two police would physically restrain him with the other two standing by, then the ambulance, then mental health ward. The police called were specially trained for this purpose. NEVER did we encounter a mental health professional that could have stepped into and resolve this situation. KCPD special training kept everyone from getting hurt. Defunding the police is a genuinely stupid concept.

  13. 9:09 “white flight?”

JC Nichols didn’t do that, the worthless Kansas City school district did that all by its self. And it continues that every day still.

  15. ^^^^Nice try loser, you failed at 7:53 with another dose of your daily hateful bullying comments that are beyond stupid. You don't ever add anything but hate, hate and more hate to anything. God what a pathetic loser you have to be.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 9:09 - maybe there's a need for more of these type of police officers? Perhaps? Maybe other cities don't have these types of officers? I'm glad it turned out best case for your son. I think it often does not.

I think you get a lot of cops (not all) that are roid head, bully types on a power trip. And you can't afford to have bad apples in that gig. You need level headed critical thinkers.

  17. It makes me giggle when I see Dave do a piece like this knowing full well it is really pissing off the ones who need to be pissed off because of their thoughts on what they think is good for Kansas City. Nice look at it Dave and very in your face stuff, truthful stuff. Cops need to make better money and money for better training and screening is a must just like Dave points out here. Good ole boy crap has got to go, we need properly train professionals in law enforcement from street officers to officers of the courts prosecuting criminals. I agree politics has to be removed from law enforcement starting with Judges.

  18. After the last two weeks, the bullshit pulled by Mayor and city council there isn't a chance local control will ever happen. Pure political theater. Everyone knows that it's dead upon arrival with the police union. Helling correctly stated the union has 10 lobbyists and after the last month that isn't going to change. Good luck getting rank and file on board after having bricks and rocks thrown at them.

    Kansas City should watch closely.

Now the Democrat Party is back-stabbing the police unions that voted Democrat for decades.

Who will the Democrat Party back-stab next in its quest for globalist takeover ?

You fools will all be working or $7.50 an hour for the Democrat Party elites that run Nike, Apple, Amazon, Facebook etc. You will be called party workers instead of professionals. There will be a Democrat Party Commissar ironically titled Chief of Diversity to ensure you follow the party line.

  21. The Democrat Party is following the Nazi party playbook of the 1930's.

ANTIFA (Nazi Brownshirts) riot and intimidate law-abiding citizens.

Corporate leaders bow down to ANTIFA (Nazi Brownshirts) in order to keep their titles and their business from being burned, looted and demonstrated against.

The existing police department is abolished; books burned and history re-written.

The Democrat Party's playbook is the exact same as the Nazi Party in Germany of the 1930's. Intimidation is the key to their strategy.

    8:17 has it right.

"The department will become corrupt and be used as a political tool against the residents of the city by the powers that be. Mayor Lucas has a political agenda here and that isn’t for the good of everyone."

CrazyDave is wearing his tin foil hat, today.

That might, maybe, make sense if this was a local issue, only. But, it's not. This is being considered through out the Western World.

    He owes Lucas an apology.

The haters all freak out with slander and negative comments right and left claiming he has no right to speak on a subject while all they do is trash talk against the messenger with zero substance in their words. No one can talk to the haters as they are not deep nor insightful, not thought-provoking nor intricate. They are clearly superficial.
