TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY LEADERS TERRIFIED BY 'BLUE FLU' THREAT AMID ALWAYS DEADLY JULY 4TH HOLIDAY!!!
The fundamental rules of physics, the Bible and common sense inform us that "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."
And so, after weeks of protest, civil unrest, demands to "defund" law enforcement culminated with the announcement of a public vote on so-called "local control" of police . . . Community, neighborhood and a few political leaders fear the reality on cowtown streets as the deadly 4th Of July weekend approaches.
To wit and given that Kansas City already counts 90 homicides with a spike of nearly 40% YTD underway . . .
EVEN THE MERE MENTION OF A 'BLUE FLU' DURING JULY 4TH WEEKEND FRIGHTENS KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS!!!
Here's the word from a 12th & Oak player tracking this conversation . . .
"We can't afford it. The homicides are already out of control and July 4th is typically one of the busiest times of year for police. Around the the 4th, police already work around the clock answering calls, protecting property, homes and doing everything from finding lost youngsters to placing victims of domestic abuse with resources.
If they call out. It'll be chaos.
I've seen the demand for it on Twitter but rest assured. KC will be in a lot of trouble if even a small percentage of KCPD decide to protest this way. Right now we're doing what we can to prevent it and make sure everyone knows that it will be unacceptable."
Accordingly . . .
In the coming days look for KCPD to address the "sick out" talk. There's also a possibility of an upcoming statement from The Chief. While the Mayor doesn't have a lot of credibility with police right now, we're hearing that a few other locals elected leaders from across the metro will publicly plead with the po-po to keep watch over Kansas City during this always dangerous time of year.
Meanwhile, as blue flu sick-outs ramp up across the nation . . . Here's a glimpse at the debate from a law enforcement perspective:
P1: Is a ‘blue flu’ the right way for officers to make their voices heard?
Officer.com: Do your duty. DO NOT call out "slick" with the blue flu. We're better than that. We're more honorable than that.
LO: Is The Blue Flu Coming On July 4th?
