TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY BATTLE FOR MLK BLVD STARTS AGAIN AND THIS TIME THE PASEO IS DOOMED AMID 2020 #BLACKLIVESMATTER PROTEST!!!

A recent vote to "Save The Paseo" seems so long ago and might be the last local remnant of the Prez Trump era in Kansas City.

To wit . . .

ONCE AGAIN THE REVS DEMAND THAT THE PASEO SHOULD BE RENAMED MLK BLVD!!! NOW THEY'VE GOT MORE POLITICAL TRACTION FOR THIS POWER MOVE!!!

Kansas City has basically complied with the vote to switch the signs back after a sketchy power move signed by the current Mayor Quinon Lucas when he was on council was overturned by an EPIC vote and commendable grassroots movement.

There are still a few signs that remain and our blog community always told readers they weren't going anywhere.

Oh yeah . . .

TKC FIRST on this one too given the cultural zeitgeist seems to approve EPIC Yellow Letters on the street supporting Black Lives Matter in our nation's captial . . .

J.C. Nichols Fountain & Parkway isn't much longer for this world.

In much the same way that Confederate memorials are coming down all at once across the nation, there's no political will to preserve the memory of old school racists or faux ethnic tribute history via street sign . . . BTW and despite the missives of faux Latinos encouraged by sexy white ladies, naming The Paseo was really just some white dude fondly dreaming about his vacation to Mexico -- Hardly a cultural touchstone. Moreover, most Latino leaders in KCMO realize this is an issue of neighborhood self-determination for the African-American community and only a few lone tokens representing absolutely NOBODY have noted otherwise.

Most importantly, let's not forget that "Save The Paseo" activists disgraced themselves and stupidly wasted all of their political capital by way of waltzing into a church meeting in the sanctuary of their opposition and disrespectfully protesting.

Fact is, Former Council Lady Alissia Canady won that campaign for a few Northeast busybodies and she's not going to do it again now that's she is more content to play the role of rising star among Missouri Democrats.

And so . . .

The Kansas City name game is soon to restart just in time for campaign 2020 and in Kansas City, Missouri there's simply no denying that #BlackLivesMatter protesters and leaders have the momentum to finally settle this debate once and for all.

Developing . . .

Go ahead and piss on the Paseo and mark your territory, but don't forget to do it without a vote you racist freaks.

  10. “Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.”

    Aldous Huxley, Proper Studies, 1927

In Africa itself, however, the slave trade is remembered quite differently. Nigerians, for example, explicitly teach about their own role in the trade:

Where did the supply of slaves come from? First, the Portuguese themselves kidnapped some Africans. But the bulk of the supply came from the Nigerians. These Nigerian middlemen moved to the interior where they captured other Nigerians who belonged to other communities. The middlemen also purchased many of the slaves from the people in the interior . . . . Many Nigerian middlemen began to depend totally on the slave trade and neglected every other business and occupation. The result was that when the trade was abolished [by England in 1807] these Nigerians began to protest. As years went by and the trade collapsed such Nigerians lost their sources of income and became impoverished.

See black people been protesting for centurys and even protested when they couldn't sell one another.

In Ghana, politician and educator Samuel Sulemana Fuseini has acknowledged that his Asante ancestors accumulated their great wealth by abducting, capturing, and kidnapping Africans and selling them as slaves. Likewise, Ghanaian diplomat Kofi Awoonor has written: “I believe there is a great psychic shadow over Africa, and it has much to do with our guilt and denial of our role in the slave trade. We too are blameworthy in what was essentially one of the most heinous crimes in human history."

  13. Next up?
    Jermaine Reed for police chief!
And many many millions more for "community organizations and events".
Lucas and the other electeds in KCMO have opened the door to an even longer never-ending list of DEMANDS which, one by one, will continue to erode the city's financial position, public safety, infrastructure, and quality of life.
The deterioration that has been allowed to fester in east side neighborhoods will now continue throughout the city.
Pandering and kneeling to the mob is not leadership.
Except maybe if you're a college professor with no responsibilities to actually manage or consider how your ideas actually may affect someone else.

  15. THE WRATH OF THE AWAKENED SAXON
    by Rudyard Kipling

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.

    They were not easily moved,
They were icy -- willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
    No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.

    It was not suddently bred.
    It will not swiftly abate.
    Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

  22. Vote Democrat in November 2020 if you want protesting, riots, looting and murder in your suburbs and neighborhoods.

If the Democrats obtain control of the Presidency; it will be open season on law-abiding citizens whether you are white, asian or hispanic.

The Democrats will take your property with higher taxes and destroy what remains with violence. Your way of life for you and your family will end.

The Democrats desecrated with paint the Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial and all other monuments that cherish our history and values. This is a communist revolution by the Democrats and their militant arm ANTIFA.

It already is? Thanks sLIE and boy blunder, you two clowns ruined a perfectly good city.

Can anybody say that they saw this coming with Lucas? Gotta admit I didn’t, I’m shocked at how fast his liberal agenda reared it’s ugly head.

This is the beginning of the end, Mark my words.

  31. @11:28 you forget the role those three fat Whores Barnes, Justice and Shields have had in wrecking KC - they played just at big a role as the racist trio of Cleaver, James and Lucas have!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Let them rename the Paseo- it'll have about as much effect on the residents of Kansas City as the renaming of the Broadway, ASB and Paseo Bridges has!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Rename one of the three logical alternatives, Prospect, Troost, or Avenida de Caesar Chavez!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Don't rename Avenida de Cesar Chavez! He was totally against illegal immigration. We need more heroes like him.

  35. ^^^ Or not, mlk is useless to people anymore, he’s no longer relevant matter of fact, they’ve mis-quoted him so many times now nobody even understands who the hell he was. Kc has nevar had a big race problem, everybody has gotten along enough to prove that.

  36. If you look at the looters/rioters/protesters, you see a lot of rabble-rousers and losers. None of these people contribute anything of real value to our economy. They are bottom feeders and welfare cheaters and privileged white trust fund kids who know how to chant a nice leftist chant and raise a fist in faux protest. But they add nothing to the political discourse other than division and hate.

    ReplyDelete
  37. 1155, not to jinx things, but at least KC people talk with each other enough to know what they have in common.

And maybe, just maybe, KC people are nicer to their fellow man.

And we're all fans of the Chiefs and Royals.

  38. 719 and 731, where are the slums?

KC neighborhoods just aren't that bad compared with some places, such as parts of St. Louis, the Bronx, and other bombed-out zones.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I could have swore just a few weeks ago this Blogger was attacking the City for changing the name to MLK saying their was no vote, it would cost $40,000 for new signs etc. etc. and now today he is attacking those who want to retain the Paseo name inferring such people are racists.

Martin Luther King was a good man and hero so why not change it to MLK Boulevard. No one has a clue how it was named Paseo to begin with and frankly no one cares.

    ReplyDelete
  44. ^^^ tell that to the cleave and the fat fake revs, there must be some serious money involved if they haven’t let it go for 43yrs. The point is nobody wants or needs it and we’re sick and tired of a handful of fake revs demanding this or that when they don't add anything to the conversation or to the city.

It’s like the children protestors, all you hear from them is whining and not doing. Burning buildings, breaking glass, throwing rocks and bricks at the police and stealing from innocent people fixes nothing. Just like mlk blvd.

  45. The Revs have no political traction. They have heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and diverticulitis and of course the BiG C. Fuck these motherfuckers. The people voted. Put the signs back up. This has nothing to do with George Floyd or racial injustices. Kings has been honored in Kansas City many times over.

    King Middle
    King High
    King Park

It’s a new day and King isn’t part of this movement because I’m sure some Black guy set him up to be murdered due to jealousy and they had the White man take him down like all Black leaders who are killed this way. They gave him up to the White man. Now, they can blame whitey but the events leading up to his death - that was likely a black man.

  51. Why not just rename every street in KC MLK Drive or Avenue or Blvd? The confusion won't matter because the police won't be answering calls anymore anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  52. The police dont answer calls as it is. One called me on the phone and told me just to get a lawyer. The police are worthless.
